Here's my idea of welfare reform: comments? (document presented in language of applicant)
Public Assistance Implementation and Usage Contract.

This contract, entered into on (date) and expiring on (18 months from implementation date) by the (state agency) and applicant(s) listed herein (must submit names of applicant and children born to her via birth records),allows for the provision of food,housing allowance,child care and education for the purposes of job placement during the contract period,and is understood by all parties concerned that the provision of aforementioned assistance is on a one-time basis,not to be repeated or reinstated at any time for any reason between the applicant(s) and the agency named herein,and is for the aforementioned time period only,and can only be implemented following presentation of documents proving legal citizenship status and a drug screening process,both of which are to be conducted by the agency.

Once legal citizenship status and drug screen results are known by the agency and the applicant and found to be favorable,this contract can then be implemented.The following covenants hereby apply and are agreed upon by both the named agency herein and the applicant(s) seeking assistance (failure of any one of these covenants will be considered a contract breach on the part of the applicant,and will result in immediate termination of the contract;assistance will be terminated immediately and can never be reinstated at any time in the future for any reason:
Applicant will submit to random home visits which will be unannounced and will occur during the 5-day work week,normally during the mid-day hours;
Applicant will submit to random drug testing as directed by the agency;
Applicant must not conceive,adopt(formally or informally,including family members,immediate or extended),marry or co-habitate during the contract period;
Applicant must attend a one-year vocational program via a voucher provided by the agency;
Applicant must attend each class (two absences will be allowed during the contract period and a doctor's note must be submitted upon returning to class for each absence) and a transportation voucher will be provided by the agency for transportation during class hours;
Child care will be provided by the agency during class hours only.

Once applicant graduates from vocational training, a two-month job-placement period will commence,with child care provided by the agency; Upon applicant's employment,there will be an additional 4 months of ongoing assistance to allow applicant enough time to establish themselves in their occupation and to make child-care arrangements for after the contract period.
Once this contract has reached its expiration date,the assistance provided,all provisions and covenants and financial considerations as well,will cease and terminate permanently.The applicant is barred from any and all future assistance.

I,________________ hereby agree to adhere to all covenants,rules,etc of this contract. I realize and fully understand that I am bound by this contract in order to receive assistance in any form,and that any violation or breach will result in my receiving any form of assistance any further. I agree further that this contract was fully explained to me by the agency caseworker and that I will fully comply.
(sign & date here)____________________________
Agency hereby agrees to and will implement to the best of its ability and obligations,all covenants of this contract. (agency sign & date)_______________________

forget money and vouchers. Build a cabin style bunkhouse and let people who are down on their luck stay in a bunk like a shelter for a disaster. Cabin provides shelter from the elements, but nothing more. Watch how quick they figure out how to get back on their feet staying in a bunkhouse with the other losers.

We are being overrun by an underclass of people born to welfare recipients who are incapable and unwilling to support themselves. This growing underclass of people will (and in many places, already has) outvote the producing class of people. As a result, we as producers will be paying higher and higher taxes to pay for the lifestyles of these parasites. On top of that, they will vote themselves more lavish lifestyles at our expense. We won't even be able to afford to have children of our own because we'll be paying so much in taxes as a result.

Therefore, if I could, I would require that every welfare recipient be spayed or neutered.

Excellent.

I see no allowance for feeding the parasites, in your plan.

Thus, all the more reason for them to QUICKLY find a way to support themselves. The way some of them eat, should take about 45 minutes.

Add in; “Recipients give up the right to vote for the period of time they are on welfare.”

I like the Mennonite way.

You belong to a church or other similar organization which you have a social contract with and you agree to refuse any other assistance while devoting a percentage of your income to pay for others and your assistance.

“welfare recipient be spayed or neutered. “

They were doing a piece on NPR earlier boo-hooing a historical program of the govt in which a 13 year old girl was sterilized after she had her first baby (which she was incapable of taking care of). They were, of course, outraged, but it sounded about right to me.

Beginning sounded a bit like the 1996 “Welfare Reform Act” that was not forced on states or “allowed exceptions.”

Is this for all welform recipients, sounds like it is only for illegals.

I would like to see: NAME THE FATHER............

Unless and until they are willing to name the father,they would get NO/NONE/ZILCH assistance of any kind.

Go after the father/fathers FIRST, make them pay one way or another. If they have jobs, take $$$ from their salary. If they do not have jobs, PUT THEM IN JAIL or castrate them.

IF in jail, at least they won't be dropping any more of their seed for us to take care of. OR; they have the option to be castrated, they can go free. Their choice.

No reason for us to keep paying for their Jollies. Until the Gov't does something like this, Welfare WILL NEVER BE REFORMED. animals will still be animals.

I favor providing serious incentives for people to get off welfare and on their own. However, the flip side is greater social worker (government) involvement with all its inherant evils and corruption. Not sure how to exactly balance the two, but what they receive should be looked at.

Let me add something.

Lamar Smith is sponsoring an E-Verify bill for employers.
No E-Verify, no workee. This cuts out millions of illegals.

Let me take it a step further;

Require E-Verify for everyone recieving public assistence paid for directly or indirectly with federal tax dollars.

This would also cut off illegal parents being paid for their anchor babies.

Here's the problem: the "new welfare" is Social Security Disability.

No pesky social workers, no job requirements, and a lifetime award.

The extra bonus of this scam is it'll destroy disability for those who really deserve it - AND it'll destroy Social Security for those who paid into it for a lifetime.

The new face of disability? Drug addicts, alcoholics, homeless, criminals, gays with HIV (now much like a bad cold) and inner city folks who can't give up the old ways.

All the pathologies of the old welfare - and none of the benefits.

Have you seen the billboards saying 'We'll fight for YOUR right to Social Security Disability"? Liberal lawyers take a cut from the winnings... new "shops" opening daily is a hint to how much money is involved.

That's the whole idea.
Of course,the leftists' heads would explode,and the repubs would be drawn and quartered for even thinking of such a horrendous thing-and they would never have the courage to propose it anyhow-but it cuts out the endless cycle of year-in,year out paychecks for those who can work but claim they can't afford childcare,don't have any marketable skills and no transportation.
If i'm going to have my tax dollars taken to foot the bill for someone else,I want to see some positive results from it.
What this would do would be to warn those who think they can secure a ticket on the gravy train that there will be a permanent derailment after 18 months.
You either want to better yourself or not-and if you don't,no assistance for you.The taxpayers are done supporting your babymaking,partying butts-period.
Get out there and see what it's like to work for a living.

This isn’t welfare exactly, it’s more SS disability, but in my book it’s close enough...

I have a cousin who has had medical issues all his life, lots of surgeries for different things and such. He has a girlfriend. She is healthy. Neither work and they spend their time doing whatever they want to do, and post their adventures on Facebook.

My issue is this....my family never could figure out where they got their money. I know it’s really none of my business, but after months of reading their posts on FB, it got me, and my family, curious.

Well, come to find out, his girlfriend got him on SS/disability, and somehow, she got it for herself too. So now they both get govt. checks every month, for doing nothing, and they spend all their time on a constant roadtrip. They recently went from Tx to Cal just to watch the sun set. Both COULD work, but why would they?

If it were a very unusual situation, it wouldn’t bother me much, but if those two are doing that, how many others are scamming the system? In my humble opinion, if you can walk and talk, and think, you shouldn’t get disability.

Ramble over...

Welfare reform is good - but the spending that’s killing the USA is overall entitlements and Gov’t aid to corporations

Soc. Sec., Medicare, farm subsidies, green energy - that’s where the money is.
