This isn’t welfare exactly, it’s more SS disability, but in my book it’s close enough...

I have a cousin who has had medical issues all his life, lots of surgeries for different things and such. He has a girlfriend. She is healthy. Neither work and they spend their time doing whatever they want to do, and post their adventures on Facebook.

My issue is this....my family never could figure out where they got their money. I know it’s really none of my business, but after months of reading their posts on FB, it got me, and my family, curious.

Well, come to find out, his girlfriend got him on SS/disability, and somehow, she got it for herself too. So now they both get govt. checks every month, for doing nothing, and they spend all their time on a constant roadtrip. They recently went from Tx to Cal just to watch the sun set. Both COULD work, but why would they?

If it were a very unusual situation, it wouldn’t bother me much, but if those two are doing that, how many others are scamming the system? In my humble opinion, if you can walk and talk, and think, you shouldn’t get disability.

Maybe the same proposal can be used for SS/Disability.
The current system is too open-ended,too easy on the oversight and not enough evaluation on a case-by-case basis.If the govt would stop handing checks out willy-nilly,we wouldn't be in the situation we're in.

Then why not report them? There may be a way to do it anonymously.

It might not make a big difference overall, but every long journey begins with the first step.

You’re right, SSI is the real outrage. I know a woman, let’s call her Patty, who is obsessed with a celebrity. When her boss wouldn’t give her time off to go see the celebrity in concert, she found a doctor who would fake paperwork saying that she was subject to seizures. In a performance worthy of an Academy Award, she faked a seizure in front of the judge. As a result, she got on SSI.

Patty’s roommate, “Jane,” who is also obsessed with the same celebrity, claimed to be Patty’s “aide.” This is a great scam, because the idea is, Patty supposedly cannot go anywhere without her “aide,” Jane. So when they travel to see the celebrity, Jane travels for free. Plus Jane actually collects a SALARY for being an “aide” to someone who doesn’t need an aide any more than I do!

The two of them have all the time and money in the world to follow this celebrity’s concert tour all over the country. They have full, free medical and dental care. They have computers, nice cameras, whatever they want. Taxpayers are paying for them to be full-time, professional “fans.” And I’m sure there are many more people doing the same thing!

My brother had an apartment building. He rented it to one welfare queen, who paid her first months rent and never again- it took 6 months to get rid of her.

3 MORE did the exact same thing.

Finally he got wise and decided to show up on the 1st of the month and GET his welfare paid check for rent from her...

THE FIRST FOUR WERE LINED UP WAITING FOR THE MAILMAN~!! THEY WERE ALL STILL COLLECTING MONTHLY RENT PAYMENTS for the place the did not live at.

He reported them all, so they burned his house down. Dumbass is still a liberal though.

I knew a person who bragged about all 12 grown children in a family being on Social Security Disability. Most of them chose ‘mental’ because it’s impossible to disprove. Some were as young as in their 20’s - and they’ll get full Social Security - none of this ‘based on what you earned’ crap ... nope - and totally free medical - - for life.
