I’m like you, jaycee!

My hubby is the total opposite. When we would buy a new car, he couldn’t wait for the first scratch so his worries would be over! It would usually happen within the first 6 months in some parking lot somewhere and he would be soooo relieved!

Well, I work in a mall, so I DO park kinda far out so I don’t get so many door dings...or at least I hope not to.

It’s good for me to walk too, so that’s a plus! LOL!

LOL! I love steak and so do you so just the mention of them makes one hungry!

Do you know that occasionally I will eat Chef Boyardee products for a quick lunch or something. Its not even close to homemade but it’ll do when you’re too tired to cook and are hungry!

LOL! I was just trying to minimize what I was eating, when he was having grilled rib-eyes!!!

I occasionally will eat a bowl of Hormel Chunky Chili - with crackers but haven’t tried the Chef Boyardee Ravioli. LOL!

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND NATION!

GEORGE WASHINGTON – THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your healing wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

I have been to Westminster Abbey....it is truly a treasure to
stand in the very spots where kings of old are buried. I could
have stayed a lot longer, but hubby got tired of my reading
all the obituaries and just standing and “feeling” the presence
of all those people down through the ages who have also stood there. :)

Sometimes I buy several of those little cups of different things in Chef Boyardee and there’s another name brand that I forget. One has Chicken and Rice. I like the little cups with spaghetti and tiny meatballs. You can fix them in the microwave, too! Like I said, its not even near homemade but when you’re really hungry....tastes mighty satisfying.

I like your new post very much. I wish we had Presidents today that were proud of their religion and knew what it meant to pray. George Washington was not afraid to pray and show his trust in God.

BTW, my hubby would have let out a few swear words when he got his first dent or scratch on a brand new car....LOL! Isn’t it funny how people are so different???

It is indeed. I thought the wedding was a wonderful traditional service. There is nothing wrong with majesty, especially it is in the glorification of God.

The only thing about Westminster at that ceremony that would unnerve me is the possibility you’d be sitting on someone’s headstone. As I’m sure you know, the only headstone you can’t walk on there is the Unknown.

Curtis & Leroy saw an ad in the Starkville Daily News Newspaper in Starkville, MS. and bought a mule for $100.

The farmer agreed to deliver the mule the next day...

The next morning the farmer drove up and said, "Sorry, fellows, I have some bad news, the mule died last night."

Curtis & Leroy replied, "Well, then just give us our money back."

The farmer said, "Can't do that. I went and spent it already.."

They said, "OK then, just bring us the dead mule."

The farmer asked, "What in the world ya'll gonna do with a dead mule?"

Curtis said, "We gonna raffle him off."

The farmer said, "You can't raffle off a dead mule!"

Leroy said, "We shore can! Heck, we don't hafta tell nobody he's dead!"

A couple of weeks later, the farmer ran into Curtis &Leroy at the Piggly Wiggly grocery store and asked.

"What'd you fellers ever do with that dead mule?"

They said,"We raffled him off like we said we wuz gonna do."

Leroy said,"Shucks, we sold 500 tickets fer two dollars apiece and made a profit of $998."

The farmer said,"My Lord, didn't anyone complain?"

Curtis said, "Well, the feller who won got upset. So we gave him his two dollars back."

I was born in West Philadelphia - no more than 30 miles from Valley Forge. The punishing winter that our Colonial soldiers endured - together with the training they received from Von Steuben - forged an Army that would carry us through great adversity to victory and freedom - Valley Forge has always resonated with me. I have a picture of the winter quarters at VF that I have always kept on my office wall, as well as the picture of GW kneeling in prayer.

This Nation was brought into being through the will of God implemented by men who were willing to go down on their knees in prayer. We need to get back to that now before it's too late.
