Potential presidential candidate Donald Trump says he has "just a little" doubt that President Obama is U.S.-born but his feeling doesn't make him an "idiot."
The mogul and TV reality star suggested in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" that aired Thursday that he's reluctant to discuss the topic because "everybody that even gives any hint of being a 'birther,' a word you didn't use, even a little bit of a hint like, 'gee, maybe you know, just maybe there is this much of a chance,' they label them as an idiot."

Although I agree with you in theory, the Constitution does not require one to have been raised in America, only to have lived here for 14 years and to be a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN 35 y/o or more.

Not raised in America. But you must remain a ‘natural Citizen’ your entire life and not rely on ‘naturalized status’.
Obama’s US citizenship was terminated upon his adoption by Lolo Soetoro. He became an Indonesian citizen. He had to regain his US citizenship through naturalization. A process he possibly may never have done.
In addition. Look at the situation of the Thai Prime Minister. It is a perfect parallel to Obama/Soetoro. Obama was British citizen at birth. He never turned in form RN to formally renounce his British Citizenship. To this day - he is a Brit.
Labeling birthers as idiots is a tactic that is old and obviously has not worked on we citizens. Admittedly though, it has worked on the cowards in DC and many in the conservative media. Mr. Obozo can prove us all idiots by showing us the original birth certificate. Why hasn’t he? Very strange. When the truth does come out I hope we the people hold all those in DC who were complicit in covering it up accountable and they be indicted as co conspirators.
Good luck with this. Those who have their own interpretation of what constitutes a "natural born citizen" have truly remarkable ability to ignore all counter-arguments. They just keep repeating their assertions as being facts.
You are also likely to hear a great deal about Vattel, who in a French language book "defined" NBC in passing. Anything that has happened in US constitutional history since should be ignored, particularly that pesky amendment.

Trump’s run is going to be interesting, strictly for how it effects his fellow candidates.
He would have a Palin effect, where they would all have to shuffle their politics to keep up.
He’s shrewd here, because we know most Americans are confused with doubts about Obama’s allegiances, birthplace, and religion to a small degree, even if that’s just manifested through insecurities.
The way Trump tapped into that makes it more mainstream for Obama’s base to admit that. Remember, they wouldn’t even criticize him for a while.

I did not attend kindergarten but I do remember many of my friends in first grade. Why?
Answer: In the 1950s children attended small neighborhood schools. The children in the class were children from the neighborhood.
Although I am now 64, there are still plenty of people alive ( friends of the family, neighbors, and relatives) who remember my infancy. They could testify of visiting my mother and me in the hospital, bringing meals over to the family, attending the christening, and watching me grow to maturity.
If I were running for president, my natural born citizenship would be self-evident. My birth certificate or my father or mother's citizenship would be a non-issue
Where are the people in Obama’s early life? If he can't produce the very highest standard of having American citizens testify of his origins, then it is reasonable to demand that he produce certifiable evidence.

The media-Obama machine has tried to make the public ignore common sense with ridicule. He addressed that also.
I agree a 100% with what you said. I too have tried to “debate” these Vattel Freaks on what NBC is. Nothing works.
They worship Vattel as if he was some demi-God. Ask them where on the US Consitution, Declaration of Independence or any other amendment is Vattel mentioned? No answer. Instead they keep harping on Vattel.
These are the guys who drive me nuts. FR is by definition a “constitutional site”. Then go with the freaking constitution. Use OUR constitution. Use OUR case law. In fact about the only relevant case law on NBC was against a Chinese American and the court used the word “Natural Born” to define the Chinese American a natural born even though both his parents were foriegn born and not US citizens at his birth.
Now, Congress can and should explicitly define NBC. But till that day comes, Vattel can suck a sour one.
