Since retiring from the military I have been a firm supporter of concealed carry. I am personally a fan of 1911 pistols and have had the pleasure of carrying many different types of 1911.
2 weeks ago I picked up the Sig Sauer 1911 c3 carry model. Not sure how many of you carry but this gun is an absolute pleasure to carry. It's light, handles well and has no sharp edges for those of you that carry small of the back. I have fired about 3k rounds thru it so far and have not had one failure.
The only thing I think I would change on it would be the sights since i am a fan of Tritium sites but besides that about the only way I can describe this gun is perfect. It's thin, lightweight, carrys well, sites in well and of course also can exchange parts with other 1911's. Great Gun IMHO.
Buy one of everything. Then double up.
I have a Sig Sauer P250C a compact tactical combat pistol chambered in 40 S&W for one of my CCW weapons. It holds 13 + 1 rounds, has tritium night sights and can be converted to .357 Sig with a simple barrel change. The quality of these weapons is great and their customer service is exceptional.
Where’s the gun porn?
To each his own. IMHO, CZ firearms exist for the sole purpose of making Sig owners realize they spent way too much.
Is it super accurate? I always found SIGs to be like target pistols.
Sig P220 Carry
Very sweet trigger.
Prefer it to my Gold Cup, which is all tricked out for competition.
bumpity
I agree, I’ve had a pair of factory restored CZ 50’s and a CZ 75, new, in 9mm. All were very dependable and accurate, although the 75 was a little harsh on the recoil. At the time, late 80’s and early 90’s in Germany, you could buy the CZ’s for about half what the Sig’s cost.
In the early 90's when the SAS was looking to replace the Hi-Power, the rank and file wanted the CZ75B, but the MOD deferred to the Sig only because the Czech Republic had only recently emerged from behind the iron curtain, and was not deemed an adequately proven ally.
Those two endorsements are good enough for me :-)
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
You simply can not go wrong with Sig Sauer. I bought one of the first P229 .357 Sig models back around ‘91 and carried it for years until I moved to Japan. Best performing handgun I have ever had. Right up there with the Colt Python for precision and handling, but not quite a carry piece.
I’m a big 1911 fan. Have a couple of them and have sent thousands of rounds downrange with them.
But... Last year I got a Sig P220 Elite. Just... wow.
Not only is it just damn comfy to shoot, but it’s got that “short reset trigger” (SRT) that makes follow-ups just... magic. It’s also so darn easy to strip open and clean. I love the hammer-drop, and the double-action first shot. No safety. Love that too.
I still love my Kimber 1911’s, but dang... as a daily carry weapon that Sig has won me over.
That’s a beautiful piece. For some reason when I look at this picture I instantly think of Burt Reynolds. WTF? ;)
Pretty... S&W 686, 6 inch bbl.
I have one of those in a 4in bbl. Have put thousands of rounds through it, and it was the whole reason I got into handloading. Handloading for .38/.357 is pure bliss.
I also have a model 586 8 inch bbl. It’s the same thing, just in blue instead of stainless. That thing drives nails.
CZ’s are fantastic weapons but I have a problem with the trigger positioning on the pistols as my fingers are too short to get a good pull. The rifles are another story for me as I can shoot them well. I love my CZ-452 Lux 22 LR and will be purchasing a CZ 550 Safari Magnum chambered in .375 H & H Magnum.
Awesome! I have a Model 27 Classic (4” barrel) with rosewood grips and a Model 29 .44 Magnum with a 6” barrel.
With Tritium Nitesights. Schweet. :-)
