My favorite weapon is my 357 NJ State Trooper side arm from 1976. That thing has history and is just all types of fun.

That’s a beautiful piece. For some reason when I look at this picture I instantly think of Burt Reynolds. WTF? ;)

Pretty... S&W 686, 6 inch bbl.
I have one of those in a 4in bbl. Have put thousands of rounds through it, and it was the whole reason I got into handloading. Handloading for .38/.357 is pure bliss.
I also have a model 586 8 inch bbl. It’s the same thing, just in blue instead of stainless. That thing drives nails.

Awesome! I have a Model 27 Classic (4” barrel) with rosewood grips and a Model 29 .44 Magnum with a 6” barrel.

The L frame wasn't introduced until 1980. Still a fine looking revolver. I love me a revolver, I'm a Ruger man, but I've owned and shot lots of 66's and 686's and 625's. My favorite Smith was a 6" 686 like your.

Pssst... that’s a model 686, wasn’t introduced until 1980. You probably meant the model 66.
