Walgreens BREAKS Deal On Super Jingles Cash Promotion
Self | December 11, 2010 | PJ-Comix

Any other Walgreens shoppers out there who have been using the Super Jingles Cash deal? I have BAD news for you. Walgreens has BROKEN their promise. From last Sunday until yesterday, if you spent at least $25 at Walgreens (BEFORE coupons) you got $5 back. Because of my great coupon skills I was getting anywhere from $25 to $40 worth of stuff for much less than a buck out of pocket PLUS I earned $5 Super Jingles Cash. Soooo...today I go out in the morning and did a typical deal with the coupons again and guess what? NO super jingles cash even though my purchase was well over $25 before coupons. Why? Because as I found out Walgreens has gone back on its deal. They changed it to $25 in purchases AFTER coupons.

Now maybe that deal wasn't working out for them. They should have figured that out in advance. Now they have earned ill will because of going back on their deal. Really bad PR there, Walgreens.

This one still has me irked. I was looking forward to earning at least $300 in Super Jingles Cash in the coming week but now I can't since Walgreens welshed on its PROMISED deal.

Well, gee whiz, I wonder why they quit letting everyone have stuff for free? (sarcasm/)

Well, you could punish them by switching to the dirty, smelly, hideously carpetted CVS

I suspect they disclosed in the fine print that they could discontinue the program at any time. If they did, they did nothing wrong.

It wasn't like they are giving stuff away without compensation. The coupons I used are reimbursed by the issuing companies. Even the Register Rewards are actually Catalina Coupons that are also reimbursed by the various companies. Anyway, if the deal wasn't working out for them, they should have thought that out in the first place. Instead they BROKE their own deal. Not good public relations at all.

I hate CVS. There was an OSCO here in my town that was about the size of a Walmart without the grocery section. Good prices, great liquor department! Well, CVS bought them out. They redesigned the store, raised all the prices. RUINED the booze department!

What the hell is the point of a drug store if you can’t get a good deal on rum?
Argggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

Mr. Comix, if you'll please follow me out back I'll introduce you to Bruno. Bruno is in charge of explaining the Walgreen's ‘fine print’ policy.

Here is what it STILL clearly states on the Walgreens WEBSITE:

Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h is earned after all applicable discounts and before any manufacturer coupons or taxes are imposed.

To me Walgreens is clearly engaging in FALSE advertising since their new policy which was instituted today complete contradicts their WRITTEN policy.

I pretty much stopped doing the deals when they made the $5 off $25 *after coupons*. That was well over a year ago, possibly two. They must have slipped back to the old way for a bit before they realized. I still miss the big Easy Saver books and rebates... I made a lot of money on vitamins!

I can't find anything in the fine print that they can discontinue the program at anytime. Seems to me they didn't discontinue the program...they altered their agreement mid promo.

According to their website today Walgreens Super Jingle Cash near bottom of page.

Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h can only be redeemed on a total purchase that exceeds the dollar amount of the Super Jingle Ca$h coupon. Only one Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h coupon redeemed per transaction. Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h cannot be redeemed for cash. Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h is earned after all applicable discounts and before any manufacturer coupons or taxes are imposed. Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h redemption cannot be combined with any other Walgreens STOCK UP store coupon in the same transaction. To earn Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h, eligible purchases include regular and sale-priced items. If merchandise purchased with Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h is subsequently returned or price adjusted, the value of the Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h previously earned and / or the amount of the merchandise refund may be reduced to reflect any unearned value. Walgreens Super Jingle Ca$h cannot be bought, reproduced, transferred or sold. No cash value. No cash back.

How in the heck do you find that much to buy at Walgreens? Other than prescription drugs Walgreens is all about the extremely cheap extremely crap. $20 at Walgreens will give you 4 bags of stuff you should probably just throw away unopened.

Photo-copy the offending register tape so we can all determine if you are robbed or maybe missed an item that might not be part of the credit.

Please go to www.hotcouponworld.com and learn, you will be amazed! They have forums for virtually every chain store. Find the forum for a store near to you and read the deal posts. There used to be mentoring program there, you may want to look into it.
