I will be flying on Christmas Day so I need to know what is meant by “opt out”. Does that mean refuse the scanner and take the pat down? Does it mean don’t fly? Also, are all passengers now receiving the enhanced procedure after passing through the metal detector?

wait until they do this in other areas, like the ferries for the statue of liberty, etc.. then federal buildigns and courthouses, next up: busses, all government buildings, schools, colleges, shopping malls...
I’m wondering how long these would last if we all started gasping and moaning, etc. very very loudly when these assaults happen. I challenge the men to slather vaseline prior to flying. If everyone does this together I wonder if we can embarass the TSA into doing the right thing.

I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV, however I’m smart enough to be able to read the U.S. Code and the case law behind it.
18 U.S.C. Section 2242. should apply in this case, as in all other cases on this matter. It deals with Sexual abuse, and it reads It reads:
“Whoever ... knowingly—
(1) causes another person to engage in a sexual act by threatening or placing that other person in fear..; or
(2) engages in a sexual act with another person if that other person is—
(A) incapable of appraising the nature of the conduct; or
(B) physically incapable of declining participation in, or communicating unwillingness to engage in, that sexual act;
or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title and imprisoned for any term of years or for life.”
In case law the question of wether or not any specific touch can be construed as “sexual” in nature has usually been left to context, which might mitigate against it at an airport screening ... except for in cases where sexual organs are handled. In such cases, the touch is deemed to always be sexual, with abuse therefore being determined by the person whose organs are being handled; hence, Title 18 applies.
I suggest demanding to see a police officer and pressing criminal charges under Title 18 U.S.C Section 2242. If the cop won’t respond, get yourself a lawyer and press charges that way. We MUST get a Grand Jury to determine if the law might apply sufficiently so that warrants for arrest can be issued and a criminal proceeding to go forward. Arrest several hundred TSA agents and this molestation will stop,
Thus far I’ve flow several times the past month and have not had my genitalia touched. I have been waiting for that day to press charges under Title 18, but haven’t been able to because the TSA hasn’t been compliant enough to select me for molestation. I guess I’m too ugly.
Just wear a burka and say you will pat yourself down. You will get through with no problem whatsoever.

Ok, I know this is a bit gross, but it has been on my mind. There are people who have a fairly large belly that creates an overhang. If you opt for the pat down, do the TSA agents lift this up and feel under there? Because that overhang can hold something very easily. I know because my sister has done just that - but not to conceal anything illegal. Forget body cavities, what about creases and folds? They will figure this out eventually. As for my family, we are done flying. Our son is headed to Texas for Thanksgiving and he is taking Greyhound!
The government is trying to beat us into submission by invading our privacy. This is nothing more than the establishment forcing its citizens to become weak bleating sheep who willingly give in to whatever the authorities want.
They’re already into our email, bank accounts, bedrooms, medical records, credit card purchases, phone calls, and spoken words, and now they want to get into our pants.
And some of the sheep are turning into goats and the government doesn’t know what to do! All these years the folks have become more and more sheepish and submissive, and now they’re resisting! What will the fascists do now? They’ve never seen such a situation!
Even if you decide to use the X-Ray screening, you’re told to put your hands above your head.

The whole TSA thing is silly. A big waste of time. For nearly a decade DHS has been going to law enforcement seminars, conventions, etc. Why? To attempt to teach law enforcement, especially in states that border Mexico how to identify something. Something that the muzzies have been smugglng acrosss the border for years. Something that they have stashed all over the country because they can be easily transported and smuggled in the states acrosss an open border. The seminars include the military, in uniform. They bring in components of certain devices so they can show law enforcmeent what parts of the devices look like if broken down. What are the devices?

Went into Maximum Security Prison in state of Illinois to visit someone a few years back. Wife and I had quite a pat down but NOTHING compared to what they are doing at these airports.
