Is Obama a socialist? No, he’s worse than that
Daily Mail UK ^ | September 16, 2010 | Mary Ellen Synon

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party Express have roared right through the latest round of Republican Party primaries this week, rattling the party establishment and terrifying the Democrats. For those of you who are trained in the fastidious ways of the British ‘liberalism’ and are therefore shocked and can’t think why the American Right is gaining such strength, here’s the reason: Barack Obama.

Americans are waking up to the fact that they have elected a man as president who is every inch an exotic creature. Which was rather fun at first. The problem is, America is discovering that Mr Obama has brought more than just a foreign name and an interesting racial mix to the White House. He has brought a whole foreign way of thinking. And Americans don’t like it.

Millions of them now want national leadership with a more star-spangled way of looking at the world, which is why this week there is something else going on in America, a national debate on a story about Mr Obama in the business magazine, Forbes. The story is called ‘How Obama thinks.’ Its conclusion is that he thinks like a 1950s East African anti-colonialist. The article was written by Dinesh D’Souza, an academic and author who is as exotic as the US president. Mr D’Souza was born in Mumbai and immigrated to America as a student. He is now president of The King’s College in New York. He once served in the Reagan White House. Many of Mr Obama’s critics claim he is a socialist. Certainly, as Mr D’Souza says: ‘Thanks to Obama the era of big government is back. He has expanded the federal government’s control over home mortgages, investment banking, health care, autos and energy.’

He is all that AND more....

Ever wonder why muslims like him so much?... ever wonder why we will fail in our defenses against them (purposefully and intentionally)?

In a radio interview Dinesh D’Souza believes this explains Obama’s oil drilling policy of making us oil dependent while subsidizing Brazil and Mexico. He uses the green thing to advance agenda.

Hopefully, all those “brilliant” and “intellectual” Democrats and Independents aren’t feeling so “brilliant” and “intellectual” these days.

(But, they’ll probably vote for the left again, no matter what.)

Maroons every one of them.

IMHO

....interesting racial mix to the White House....

Zing. Finally - someone pegs those who voted for him as the possible racists

Nice article - thanks for posting.

It has long been clear to me, and is increasingly clear to everyone, that Obama is simply not one of us, that he despises us, and that he needs to be booted out by us. Bad rubbish.

It Seems to have hit a nerve with the Whitehouse.

The way the MSM , especially MSNBC — morning Joe, have tried to do damage control on this article indicates there"s some truth to this.

Yet colonialism today is a dead issue. As Mr D’Souza says: ‘Emerging market economies such as China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the problem of backwardness; they are exploiting their labour advantage and growing much faster than the US.’

Interestingly, if "China, India, Chile and Indonesia have solved the problem of backwardness," who is that has NOT solved the problem of backwardness?

Um, that would be Africa and most of the Muslim world.

And what, in particular, is our President focused on? For one, "self-esteem" in the Muslim world (see NASA).

What puzzles me is the assumption that one man, even The Anointed One, can move American Policy in such weird ways. It has to be groupthink. There must be a set of advisors. Obozo does not have a personality forceful enough to move the mountain by himself.

Last night on CNN

Roland Martin was screaming to Erik Erickson

“You’re not going to sit their and call this President anti-American”

Erickson calmly respond by essentially calling the President Anti-American.

The fear of being labeled a racist is finally wearing thin. The flood gates are cracking. Soon calling the President anti-American will be common place.

(just as RUSH did with the word “failure”)

If that's the only lesson learned from this fiasco then we haven't learned a thing.

Here's the deal: Obama isn't doing ANYTHING that the AVERAGE DEMOCRAP POL doesn't fully and completely support... despite their current temporary protests to the contrary.

“How Obama thinks.’ Its conclusion is that he thinks like a 1950s East African anti-colonialist.”

1950'S East African anti-colonialism had ONE advantage over what we in America are experiencing here and now ... It was IN East Africa and NOT HERE!!

I am sure this is all part of a WH plan to white-wash the “O” image and compensate for all the President's failings to date. To most Americans (the ones so DUMB that they voted for him in the first place)’1950’s East African Anti-Colonialism’ sounds a hell of a lot better than ‘Socialism’ or ‘Communism’. We have NOT been living under the threat of ‘East African Anti-Colonialism’ for 60 years!! Expect this and more manipulation of 'O's' image in the near future. The groaning burden of failures he is under right now means he has to re-invent "Obama" before the next election.

These comments are wonderful, guys. Thanks.

We are witnessing the gutting, looting and ‘wine pressing’ of America’s proud, sweet harvest of liberty.

Edgar Allen Poe’s “Pit and the Pendulum” rings true now for our nation and is no longer merely a horror story.

The UN is big on wealth redistribution. Soros wants to “knock America off her pedestal”, The saudis seem to have a connection with Obama and Kagan. (basically our government). Many forces possibly with different motives.

Obama seemed to be able to direct tax dollars to manipulate Kenya's recent vote on a new constitution with no constraint.

Millions of them now want national leadership with a more star-spangled way of looking at the world, which is why this week there is something else going on in America, a national debate on a story about Mr Obama in the business magazine, Forbes.

It's not just Americans who know "a more star-spangled way of looking at the world" is necessary for America's freedom and prosperity (if not outright survival).

A German economist, writing in Der Spiegel, makes the same argument in a compelling way.

In Obama's Misguided Policies: America Has Become Too European, Thomas Straubhaar wonderfully zeroes in on the pillars of American exceptionalism -- the pillars to which we must return or die! For example:

A firm belief in the individual's ability, ideas, courage, will and a reliance on one's own resources brought the US to the top.

The individual's pursuit of happiness was seen as the crucial foundation for the well-being of society, rather than the benevolent state which cares for its subjects -- and certainly not the welfare state . . ..

Both the behavior of the American government and the Federal Reserve makes one thing clear: They do not see the solution to the US's economic woes in a return to traditional American virtues.

Obama is not calling for the unleashing of market forces, as Ronald Reagan once did during an equally critical period in the early 1980s.

On the contrary: Obama, driven by his own convictions and advised by economists who believe in government intervention, has taken a path that leads far away from those things that catapulted America to the top of the world in the past century.

The highest commandment of the American worldview was always to maximize individual freedoms and minimize government influence. It was an approach that was highly successful.

According to that rule, self-directed action would remain the rule and government intervention the unpopular exception. But that is no longer the case.

The opposite strategy, one that seeks to treat the American patient with more government, is risky -- because it does not fit in with America's image of itself.

But what is good for Europe and Germany does not automatically work for the US. The settlers of the New World rejected everything, which included throwing out anything with a semblance of state authority. They fled Europe to find freedom.

The sole shared goal of the settlers was to obtain individual freedom and live independently, which included the freedom to say what they wanted, believe what they wanted and write what they wanted. The state was seen as a way to facilitate this goal.

The state should not interfere in people's lives, aside from securing freedom, peace and security. Economic prosperity was seen as the responsibility of the individual.

Obama has a completely un-American perspective that doesn't match anything I've encountered in western culture. He reminds me more of the worst from the East:

"Unlike the cruel Leonidas, who demanded that you stand, I require only that you kneel."

Obama is a slow learner, but he may be catching on to our response. If he wants our children indoctrinated in his ways, our guns taken from our hands, or anything else of ours that he is not entitled to, there can only be one answer.
