It's finally getting to me, this change in my country. Life is just not how it used to be and will never be that way again. There have been other life changes--my husband's more-or-less forced retirement, October 2008 at a job that is in the finance industry with the subsequent cutback in hours, and that wonderful time in a woman's life when everything sort of sags and stops.
Worst of all is the breakneck speed at which the norms, traditions, and the Constitution have been shoved aside for some young, upstart, radical Communist's agenda, czars, and that d*&*ED executive order pen. That is depressing because there seems to be no way to change the headlong plunge or even slow it down. November 2010? HAH! As if they'll let a real election occur. Most of those-called "Republicans" in Congress aren't helping either. Where are the real, USA-loving, Law-abiding MEN? Where are their principles?
I want things to go back to the way they were, but that's not going to happen---that is majorly depressing. Freddie, Fannie and their puppeteers ruined that scenario, not only for the U.S., but for the planet. Hope they are proud of themselves...
Okay, that's it, needed to rant. Thanks.
I should have capitalized Accuser of the brethren...it’s an entity...look it up. As far as the rest of you comment, you know nothing about me or my church.
However, the "strong delusion" is something sent by God Himself in the last days. (See 2 Thess. 2) Those who don't know Him will drown in the delusion, while those who do know Him will need to cling to Truth. "Thy Word is Truth."

Good rant.
Madison10 - I hope you’re doing better today. Praying for you. Psalm 42:5
Mmm Mmm, yes. Helps not to think about it. LOL Sunday School helped, too. You do realize that this was not a clinical thing, right?
Actually getting others’ take on things is good and I’m realizing two things:
1. Others’ see what I see and are feeling what I feel.
2. There are those that may feel/think the same, but they currently have more fire in their bellies. That, too, is great to see and gives one something for which to fight.
Tomorrow will take care of itself.
Beautiful post.
Some become the enemy before the war even starts.

True Dat!...
Maranatha!
Exactly right. St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein) died in Auschwitz. Just because one is a Christian doesn’t guarantee one an easy life. or example number 2, St Maximilian Kolbe, and a million others.
There's a scene in the movie "Iron Man" where the bad guy is holding one of his chief scientists by the collar and snarling at him, wanting to know why he can't duplicate Tony Stark's Iron Man suit. He thinks he can force this technology out of people. It is an illusion as virulent in the executive MBA mindset as it is in politicians, I think!
Mame, that amazing technology is borne of creative individuals, not committees. Such can technology can only happen in two places: death-struggle war (where do you think computers came from?), or in a free market of self interest and prosperity. World War II showed that technologically, creative individuals switched their focus from commercial to wartime pretty well -- good enough to win WWII. Aviation-wise, it may have been pretty touch-and-go with the Germans (!!!), but the technological leadership of America's war machine was powered by capitalism and the free market, and that must have been crucial to our victory in that war, I would think.
What will power the war machine you envision in that fabulous, most impressive post? I think the post was powered by fear and anquish. Calm reality reassures us that communism is as destined to fail as a ice cube in the sun is destined to melt. Reagan knew it, as sure as he knew the sun would rise tomorrow.
MMT, you mistake Windflier pretty badly, IMO.
There are about 90 million gun owners in the US of A at this point,,, Armed to the teeth,,, We have bought up the total ammo production of this country for about 18 months,,, Folks around here are fightin mad,,,
The Military has just under 2 million tops,,, LEOs number about 750,000 tops,,, They mite have 25% total that would fight the people,,,
Thanks for being a realist. Some people confuse cynicism, pessimism, and fear for the trait of being realistic; they are blind and deaf to any positive elements. A true realist, in my book, identifies the good as clearly as the bad.
TANKS a bunch for your kind words,Finny,,,
I try my best to just post facts but I’ll have to do my best
to give a general number on this issue,,,
Many people at the local gun shows are there to buy their
first gun as I have seen,,,
Sometimes I have a chair at the tables and am able to help
new shooters pick out their first gun,,,
It’s a joy to me as I’ve been a shooter for over 57 years...
Right on the money, Finny. Communism has failed wherever and whenever it's been tried.
Zero & Co. think they're smarter than the force of historical precedent, but they're sadly mistaken. Mankind's innate longing and demand for freedom (as codified in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution) will always triumph.
However, the "strong delusion" is something sent by God Himself in the last days. (See 2 Thess. 2) Those who don't know Him will drown in the delusion, while those who do know Him will need to cling to Truth. "Thy Word is Truth."
Thank you.
I certainly did not mean it to sound second-best. I merely meant to say what I did say: Jesus promises only eternal life to those who believe and choose to love. Other gifts are all conditional. God knows what other gifts we do or do not need.
When St. Thomas Aquinas was told by Christ to ask for a reward for his writing on the Eucharist, Thomas said, “Nil nisi Te.” “Nothing but You.” (He then rose some distance off the floor.) Over the centuries, many have interpreted that answer as “I will settle for You.” Which, of course, Thomas did NOT mean.
You should not be upset that “nobody” has “risen up” yet.
You should be glad that, out of the 200 million Americans who own guns, not a SINGLE PERSON has fired a weapon against the government. If evidence were needed that law-abiding gun-owners are not nuts, that’s evidence enough.
Americans are waiting for their next opportunity to VOTE.
The time to start firing on government officials is when:
a) elections are cancelled;
b) the Communists get 60-100% of the vote.
"And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near." Heb. 10:25
I might know enough. did I grate a nerve?

Don’t be so sure of yourself, mr calm reality barcalounger luggard!
communism is destined to fail AFTER all else has failed and after communism is allowed to take root exclusively and fail MASSIVELY!
put that in your pompous pipe and smoke it, mr too smug for me. There is no such thing as victory without sacrifice. Your ignorance(arrogance) is going to smack you (or your progeny) upside the face someday. maybe someday before you’re too old to not know what happened.
i on the otherhand am positioning my chess pieces for defense, not offense. You idiots can go right ahead and burn yourself out on palin and jindal and other such schmucks. Knock yourself out. I’m watching and calculating and chuckling.
Knowledge is the only defense. learn or die. Guns are but the last refuge of the cornered defenseless minority...or the tyrant. i plan to be neither. You can make your own plans.
