Anybody else find all of those Progressive Insurance commercials annoying?
Anyway, the owner of Progressive Insurance is a big lib.
Conservatives Urged to Avoid Progressive Insurance CNSNews.com ^ | 12/13/2005 | Unknown

(CNSNews.com) - A conservative advocacy group is urging its supporters to cancel their policies with Progressive Insurance, after Peter Lewis, the company's chairman, reportedly gave $8.5 million to the American Civil Liberties Union. The multi-million dollar donation will help the ACLU advance its liberal agenda, including its "war on Christmas," the American Family Association warned. In an email message, AFA Founder and Chairman Don Wildmon urged his supporters to "sign a letter to Chairman Lewis, letting him know" that his donation to the ACLU is prompting conservatives to cancel their insurance policies. The AFA recently announced that it was ending its boycott of Target stores, after the retailer promised to use the word "Christmas" in its advertising and in-store promotions.

Yes, State Farm doesn’t want anyone until they are 30. They will write them, but at a higher price to discourage it.
Yes, they have a standard line, but it is just cheaper than their non-standard line and doesn’t compete very well with the larger companies.
Oh come on, the Aaron Burr one was one of the greatest commercials ever.
Ossie?? LOLOLOL, thanks for the update, I’m way behind, hey??
I am a hypocrite, I know that.
LOL, they actually WERE THE VILLAINS in the 1st iterations of the Capital Credit commercials. Somewhere they morphed into the heros that they are now. You cannot make this stuff up!
They're not buying expensive prime-time, which allows them to buy lots of cheaper time. Their ad budget is about $175 million/year, out of an annual revenue of $14.6 billion.
Agree with you.
The only worse ad now, is the one with men singing the
“Lollypop” song. Good grief that one is bad. I click it off so fast I still don’t know what the ad is for, don’t care either.
RECENT RELATED TV ANNOYANCE...DAYS OF OUR LIVES
“Days”, on NBC, part of GE (GE, We Bring Evil To Life...), has been pushing the absurd globull warming-green-liberal agenda in recent months and perhaps for over a year. They have now dissed GLENN BECK once that I have heard and twice according to one of Glenn’s radio callers. I’ve kept up with DAYS on Soapnet for many years, and watched it for over 20 years now in total. Glenn’s caller is ready to give up Days. I’m not there yet. Politicizing a freakin’ soap opera. You can’t get away from the liberal agenda. This green thing the left is forcing on the public, is worse than the homosexual agenda thing they pushed for so many years.
End of Rant, thank you.
IMO, the gecko was never funny even for a mili-second.
ME TO!!! Especially the motor bike one where she has a 900 b twin so something like that. Hate it!!! It is on about 2,500 times a day.
You are thinking only of the radio spots....they’re on TV too!
She’s great!
I mute the radio and the TV for:
ODouchebag the _resident
his Wookie wife Chewbacca
Bill ‘why the hell are you still talking’ Clintoon
Chris Tingle
Snakehead Carville
and Ray Vinson formerly of American Equity Mortgage.
Just hearing any of them for even a second makes my skin crawl.
*rawr*
Mongo think pale brunette woman cute.
No care much for insurance, though.
(Surprised this thread hasn’t had a Laz infestation - or has he been disinfected again?)
In this case I think you may be thinking of the "California Milk Processor's Board" & others, which is a government sponsored industry-specific marketing organization. Granted, in many instances this is like the differentiation between Fannie-Mae and the FDIC.
However, I have to credit this campaign with one of my favorite commercials of all time, "The Cat Lady" about the presumed demise of the same after running OUT OF MILK! I don't know who imagined it, but Tim Burton would be proud of it.
As for the others on topic, my detestation for both GEICO (Warren Buffet) and Progressive has been years long and is firm. Add to it the new Staples "WOW" commercial even though I am a shareholder - YUCK.
On the other side, there are commercials that I admire and want to mention - the first one that comes to mind is Liberty Mutual's "Helping Hand" commercials where people help each other and the favor keeps being passed on "Paying Forward"! GREAT CONCEPT!
I hate when that happens.
I think the commercials are stupid/funny but I wouldn’t have that insurance again now that I know who owns them.
That’s good. LOL
