Has anyone let Chet99 know that Pit Bulls have now mutated and are available in both canine and feline versions?

When I was a kid we had an old tom cat...toothless, but could not retract his claws. He loved to play but you normally would withdraw a bloody hand. Every dog in the neighborhood avoided the ol tom cat. He could slice and dice without difficulty.

It may seem funny that a postman is afraid of a cat, but they go for the face in a frenzy of claws and teeth.

When I was a kid, our siamese attacked the Fuller Brush Man. She leaped off a bannister onto his head and dug her claws in his scalp, refusing to let go as he tried to shake her off in a wild frenzy of yelling and blood. It was funny to watch, but my mom ended up buying about $50 (in late 60’s dollars) worth of stuff.

I don’t know how long it’s been attacking (maybe all of its 19 years), but sometimes cats do have what I guess is the equivalent of a psychotic break and become completely unhinged. And it’s amazing how much damage they can inflict.

One of my kids was a paramedic, and one time she was called by the police to the scene of a “cat attack.” This sounded so funny that the dispatcher was making “meow” noises over the radio. When she got there, she found an adult woman and a young girl covered in blood, with lacerations and bites that required many stitches and in the case of the adult (who had rescued the little girl), a blood infection and a hospital stay.

They had had the cat for a long time but it had started to act a little strange, and when the girl went to pet it that day, it leaped at her, attached itself to her shoulder and began clawing with its back feet. The mother pulled it off and held it while she got the girl out of the house - and the cat absolutely ripped her arms and midriff. So it’s not really as trivial as it sounds!

Housecats aren’t generally a threat to human life like that, but a really, really, really determined and smart one can take down a human with the same skills their larger cousins use to take down gazelles on the African veldt. There are documented cases of housecats tripping burglars and ripping out their carotid and/or jugular with the usual fatal results.

Cats, from tabbies to tigers, all remember when the game was “Man, The Hunted” and have not forgotten one bit of the skills needed. The only difference is that the larger ones are smarter and the smaller ones like us more.

As for the ‘psychotic’ issues - cats can fall prey to various diseases just like humans, which is why when you see your feline friend acting stranger than usual it is important to have them seen by a vet.

Maybe the cat isn't just named Tiger.

Now...the first thing to do when you are being stalked by an ugly mob with raspberries, is to...release the tiger. The great advantage of the tiger in unarmed combat is that it not only eats the raspberry-laden foe but also the raspberries.

Lol. My 19 y.o. Kitty still has most of her teeth and it still hurts like heck when she bites....and scratches too.

Kitty is NOT a very nice kitty.
