Governor Sarah Palin has done MUCH more for the conservative cause and this country as a whole, even WITHOUT a title and in far less time.
1) Palin, not Scott Brown, is most responsible for the reason why healthcare reform is in jeopardy. (Remember "Death Panels?") --> Mitt Romney instituted socialized medicine in his state!
2) Palin publicly challenged the science of global warming before it became "cool" to do so. --> Newt Gingrich and Tim Pawlenty are "greenies," though they are probably flip flopping on this now.
4) Palin has been a vocal advocate for the unborn far more than any other Republican, before and after she rose to national prominence. She doesn't just "talk" during speeches or "vote" whenever a bill comes up. Palin walks the walk. Her social values put her in the good graces of most Americans, INCLUDING minority and immigrant Americans as well.
4) Palin endorsed underdog Doug Hoffman in NY-23 and allied herself with the Tea Party movement, regardless of the "establishment fallout" that she'd be met with. --> Were John Thune or Mike Pence as bold and aggressive in their willingness to challenge the GOP establishment, before it became cool? No, they all seemed quite "muted" until Palin blazed the trail first. Or maybe it's because, they're PART of the establishment.
Palin has shown time and time again, she's about the people--not about career politics and saving her political skin.
5) Palin has incredibly media savvy, and this will serve her well should she ever become President. She will not let the media control and manipulate her agenda, but will instead communicate directly to the people.
6) Palin's support for our men and women in uniform is not phony -- but genuine and close to her heart. Her own son is honorably serving in the military. HARDLY (if ANY) of our representatives in Congress have any children who serve! Not only that, I trust Palin to take a bullet for a fellow American before any of the other "men" in our government would. Any day.
7) Palin takes on her own worst enemies without losing her integrity or class. She's even willing to challenge the greater culture at large. Even Hollywood feels threatened by her.
8) Palin is unabashed about her faith in Jesus Christ and her Biblical worldview.
9) PALIN has the boldness to directly call out Obama for his lies AND his cronies (like Rahm) for their incompetence and classlessness. NO OTHER REPUBLICAN has been as blunt, up front, and truthful as she has regarding the nature of Obama and his agenda!
10) I'm leaving out many other examples.
Point blank, Governor Palin has proven her leadership, while the others in the running have had MORE time and actual power to do so, but have little to show for it.
Great points :)
Hmmmmmmmmm well Romney is Romney, the huckster is a vile slimeball, Pawlenty wants us to forget Reagan, Barbour has lost ouch with reality, Thune is too DC and so on.
None of these goofs are in the same class as Palin or the conservative base.
I AM a voter in this district and I'm leaning toward Dan Mielke. Sean Duffy is a slick double talker and I don't trust him.
As far as looks go in this district, have you seen David Obey??
That's why she would make a great Senator as presidents come and go.
(((PING)))
These are my sentiments exactly.
Honestly, how much "charisma" does McCain have?
Hunter's problem is that too few people know about him. We rely on the media too much. That's the reason we got McCain as our candidate in 08. The GOP must go back the basics and promote a candidate who represents true conservative values. Then we need to promote this candidate via alternate media sources.
The media will start by ignoring this candidate. When that fails, they'll try to destroy this candidate. Meanwhile, they'll promote the worst possible choice for conservatives.
During the primariees, a lot of FReepers called for us to support McCain because "the media likes him."
No More "Maverick McCains," please!
Palin’s sense of timing and political strategy and her ability to handle the hostile elite chattering class remind me of what a great General once said: “Always mystify, mislead and surprise the enemy.”
He went on to say (and this pertains to how I bellieve she would govern as well): “When you strike and overcome him, never let up in the pursuit.”
Palin is constantly outflanking and surprising these pantywaists and Ivy League cookie pushers. They can’t keep up with her so they just hurl their insults from the cheap seats. It is like firing artillery when you are out of range. They don’t hit her, but they let her and us know where they are, so we can return the fire.
I would endorse that ticket.
More correction, a one time change in position is called a "flip".
LOL!
Anyway the climate was warming up through the 1990's and since then, it is getting cooler again. I would correlate the changes in temperature to changes in sunspot actively and not due to any so-called greenhouse gas concentrations. And I don't see Sarah blaming greenhouse gases either, at least not now.
There are a few others we might elect who would do something to move us in the right direction of cutting the size and reach of the federal government, but there isn't anyone on the national scene at the moment who so clearly articulates this as an unwavering goal.
I don't trust any other potential presidential candidate to work as hard as Sarah Palin to move this country back toward a strict adherence to the Constitution and sound fiscal policies.
You posted my preferred ticket! I couldn’t agree more with the original post, either. Just saw that Huckabee had a Michelle O interview on last night that will rerun today. Does he think he’s going to score points with that? What the heck is that all about!? Sheesh!
I particularly like the way she boldly remained in office.
Political psychopaths from the Democratic party were using cowardly and nefarious means to sabotage her governorship, so gave up executive power because she believed it was best for the people.
This brilliant, selfless and courageous move ensured fulfillment of her gubernatorial obligations to the people of Alaska by handing the reigns to a trusted conservative lieutenant governor, thereby cutting down the Democrats attempts to defeat her.
I want you to sit down somewhere comfortable, and conceptualize what it says about Sarah Palins character and leadership ability that she would relinquish that much personal power for the sake of the people of her state.
Lets examine Palin’s entire political career in general, during which she has consistently refuseddespite the daily temptationsto give in to corruption, and always put the interests of her people before anything else political.
This makes Palin a better leader and more qualified for the presidency than 99% of all the politicians who have set foot in Washington for the past two centuries.
I think her resignation from the governorship will finish her off. Her opponents can label her a “quitter” and ask why she couldn’t handle the governorship if she expects to “man” the presidency. Another serious problem: jealous women won’t support her.
