William Kelly Shoots Daughter's Abusive Boyfriend, Randall Carter, in the Balls

When police in Navarre, Florida received a call for a noise complaint, they arrived to find a bleeding man running toward them along with his girlfriend. The man's groin was dripping blood, and he was screaming that he'd been shot...

Amanda Kelly told a deputy that her dad, William Russell Kelly Jr., had shot her boyfriend Randall Carter at their home. The reason for dad's ire, according to the younger Kelly: "He hates him, dude."

William readily admitted to the shooting, but claims a different motive. He says he unloaded his .45 revolver, which he affectionately calls "The Judge," because Carter was assaulting this daughter. "I shot him in the nuts with bird-shot because he was beating my daughter," Kelly told police.

He's been charged with aggravated battery. Carter, meanwhile, has already received his sentence for messing with an armed man's daughter.

Affectionately calls it the Judge? That’s the darn name of it, idiot.

I kinda think that he DID affectionately refer to it as "The Judge".

I’ve actually shot a full auto 10/22. It will feed 25 rounds in less time than it takes to get adeep breath. Shoots from open bolt. But the federal stamp is higher than the cost of the gun!

Yeah, hardly worth the trouble cost wise.
But it has to be fun.

Unfortunately for me, I’m in the people’s democratic socialist workers paradise of Nueva Yorke, so such fun can get you into loads of trouble.
*sigh*

“The judge” is not an affectionate name give to this gun by the shooter. The name is from Kimber the maker of the gun. It is a wheel gun that shoots .45ACP or 410 bird shot. it has an extra long wheel to accept the 410 shot shells.

It was probably a Taurus “Judge”, shoots .45 LC (Long Colt) or .410 gauge shotshells.

There's also the Taurus "Public Defender". Although I believe "pubic" would be a better fit for this story...

I shot .22LR with birdshot when I was in high school. It is fine for snakes.

My wife purchased a Taurus .38SPL revolver at our indoor shooting range. She took it to the firing line and discovered it wasn't firing reliably. The spring was too light. Since it was now "used" and her name was on the Form 4473, it went to Taurus for repair. It took 5 weeks to get it back. The repaired revolver fired every time, but the trigger pull was much heavier than what my wife originally evaluated at the time she decided to make the purchase. A lot heavier than she likes.

Many of the Taurus models are built with refurbished S&W equipment. They look like S&W, but the quality is often lacking...as we both have observed first hand.

The .22 in that shot shell format delivers better loads than the older styles with the case mouth crimped.

I don’t know what they made my pistol from, but it just isn’t acceptable to drop a mag every time you shoot, used S&W parts or not. I am, however, happy your wife’s revolver was eventually fixed.

We used to call them rat-shot.
