Preparing for civil unrest
Backwoods Home Magazine ^ | current issue | Claire Wolfe

Posted on 08/10/2009 12:52:50 PM PDT by smokingfrog

The most remarkable thing about civil unrest is that there hasn't been more of it.

Politicians are making a hash of this country—and much of the rest of the civilized world. We know it. They know it. They know we know it. But we don't feel we can do anything much to stop them.

That right there is the pre-condition for civil unrest—when people are frustrated and politicians are nervous.

Worse, that was how things stood before last fall's crash. Before pols on both left and right launched the biggest mass transfer of wealth in history—transferring our wealth (what we had left of it!) to their friends on Wall Street and in the banking industry. In other words, that's how things were before things got bad!

Now everybody's talking about the ongoing catastrophe (even if we are in a momentarily sunny mood). But almost nobody is talking about the logical—maybe even inevitable—consequences of cynical or desperate politicians abusing an already fed-up populace: civil unrest.

I mean people taking to the streets. Or mass resistance. Or crackdowns because the government fears we might do something to upset its apple cart. It's going to happen. Somewhere. At some time. It's going to.

One of the few VIPs to mention the matter openly was Zbigniew Brzezinski, former National Security Advisor and the ultimate insider's insider. He commented on the millions of unemployed or soon-to-be-unemployed and the "...public awareness of this extraordinary wealth that was transferred to a few individuals at levels without historical precedent in America." He told "Morning Joe" Scarborough, "Hell, there could be even riots." I'd say that's an understatement.

Although few in power are talking about it, rumors abound that governments at many levels are planning for civil unrest.

Even the sheeple are stirring.

Quite correct. There are many dems at the townhall meetings voicing their dissaproval of Obamacare and are being called all kinds of names right along with conservatives by their dem leaders.

They are astounded by this and are waking up by the busloads!

You know the old cliche about a conservative being a liberal who was mugged.

Lots of former liberals are getting mugged lately, by the obamanazis.

“Even the sheeple are stirring.”

And they’re armed too. Who’d a thunk?

I put on my boots last night and waded through the sh*t over at the DUmpster. Even they think it’s coming. Many of them expressed how afraid they are. A few blowhards stated they are ready, bring it on, they should have kicked conservative’s as*es years ago. A few said they were afraid because our side has all the guns. After seeing that crap the black panthers had in the recent pics from their My Space page, I have to agree with them there. A little .38 revolver and one old AK47, and an old colt cowboy pistol and he thinks he is bad as*?

It’s an incremental thing... and we’ve been incrementally screwed.

The founders fought a revolutionary war to seize God given rights back from the king who had usurped them and ever since then those rights have been slowly slipping back under the control of a new “king”, one that we “elect” every four years.

For some reason, our present king has chosen to accelerate the program. He multiplied the national debt and some complained. He nationalized the auto industry and more complained. As he extended his reach to cover more and more of our day-to-day lives, still more spoke up until now when he is trying to nationalize the healthcare industry and millions are shouting their displeasure.

Because of the economy, there were relatively few truly concerned about the financial takeover. The high price of new cars kept the numbers of protesters down when he took over the auto industry. But nearly everyone has to go to a doctor at some point so nearly everyone is affected by his latest big move.

Will guns be next and what would be the reaction by the general public? We relatively few hard-core gun owners might have a line in the sand beyond which we would let no government agent pass but the vast majority will, after all these years of incremental brainwashing, dutifully line up and turn in their guns or extend their arms for the implantation of the chip or whatever shot the CDC says is best for them. It may be - at least I hope it is - that he has moved too fast and the general populace isn’t quite as fast asleep as he thought. The recent surge in gun and ammo sales leads me to believe the giant is beginning to stir. As a child I watched the giant rise up from a seemingly sound sleep and vanquish enemies on two major fronts. Perhaps it will happen again. Time will tell.

In the meantime though, our guns may not matter. Suppose an epidemic were to break out and martial law forced upon us. Suppose further that some of your neighbors died of this new virus and the army - possibly a Canadian army - told you to take your family and climb on a bus to... somewhere else supposedly safe. Many of us are prepared to fight against the JBTs but against an invisible virus? I have an idea that most of even the hardcore gunnies would head for the bus. BTW, did I mention that guns would not be allowed on the trip?

Of course none of this is likely to happen, is it? All those laws slipped into appropriations bills at the last minute and those aggreements between Heads of State really aren’t intended for anything other than the possibility that some well-meaning scientist might accidentally drop a beaker of virus in an airport restroom. Right? Read my tagline.

“We will therefore fight these battles over and over again.”

Yep. You don't even have to be religious man to see that.

There WILL be a final battle and for the same players... Good vs Evil.

Good. Personally, I have no choice. I have qualified for at least of their right wing terrorists lists. So my fate is sealed. It is just do I want to die as a free person or as a slave. that choice I have already made.

I agree. If that passes and nothing happens. Just accept the take over or leave, because that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Wait until ACORN and SEIU and others make good use of their new wealth courtesy of Omarxist. 4.75 BILLION. The elections for years are already determined. They will be bought and paid for.

We’re on the verge. Once it starts, there’ll be no stopping it. And there’s only one way this can end.

Ah, my favorite position!

As long as we go down swinging, I’m cool with it.

They had best be afraid. Most of them are pussies who couldn’t take a punch in the nose without sitting down hard, crying and calling for their mommies - or their lawyers. Or both.

There are some who’ll fight. But look at what they’re fighting for. It’s a losers side.

As for me, screw with my life or liberty and I’ll do my best to bury a tomahawk in your face. I’ve trained to do it. They haven’t. I know what I’m fighting for. They don’t.

Your two parties have been in place for about 150 years. That's ample time to share the same goal : consolidation of money and power. How do they keep that going? They keep you cheering on one or the other like it was a professional football team.

Well said. I have always thought of it like professional wrestling and the winner is pre-determined long before the actual match.

Bookmarked and ping.

Yep. In the final analysis, Palin isn’t going to solve this problem — Pinochet will.

God help us all.

Love it!

A paragraph of Shakespeare has more ideas than many modern novels in their entirety...

Oscar Wilde as well!

So you think we can solve all this at the ballot box? (you never addressed the *cheaters*)

The "cheaters" I have seen are the politicians who have had 150 years to gerrymander their two party monopoly firmly in place. The cheaters who make it very difficult for independents to run. And the cheaters who plant the lie that if you vote for anyone other than undesirable candidate X, you are actually voting for undesirable candidate Y. Flat out false.

And honestly, if the only thing we have left to debate is how fast we drive the car towards the cliff, I pick floor it. And if we keep the two party system, that's exactly what we are debating.
