I know some jokes, but I don't know any good political jokes!! Could everyone post some good jokes here?
Thanks,

Our work here is over now. All the Europeans have gone home now. Two British colleagues are off somewhere, don't know where.
Three of us had dinner together: The Aussie leaves tomorrow for a stay in Europe before going back home, and the Canadian and I fly home Sunday.
We had fun this evening. All the restaurants around here are "ethnic" so we went to one of the "American" restaurants to get a Finnish take on American cuisine. The sign outside was funny: the name is "Colorado," logo is Plains Indian head profile in full feather bonnet, and the text featured things Mexican. Well, Tex-Mex seems to be the real theme overall, right up to Mexican blankets as part of the decoration (a point lost on both the Aussie and Canadian). I'm not sure where traditional Coloradan Jambalaya enters the mix.
Sorry about that!
LOL!
Should I go to “Colorado” and act as “consultant” on all things Western American?
Sure you are. Which is why you lurk....
;oþ
Oh, absolutely! Colorado is very scenic, and “American Cowboy” always has very nice pictures of houses and day-cor.
We had a nice afternoon out. Plenty of kids of all ages, a big swingset, and lots of dirt. The little boys needed baths as soon as we got home! Tom met some boys who had been on a Boy Scout trip with our troop recently.
Lots of dirt helps boys to grow!
I really didn’t care how dirty my son got because I could wash him and his clothes. He had a lot of fun in the dirt!!
It’s good that you all had “fun,” today!
I don’t get out much, unless it’s “work” like Girl Scouts or teaching Sunday School. Sitting in the shade watching the boys dig was a good deal!
I’m sure it was! I learned a lot by watching my son at play!
Even Pat was acting pretty normal, by his standards ;-).
Somebody on another thread is trying to say that Greek and Spanish don’t have lots of cognate words, when they do. It’s irritating. I think I’ll bless his heart soon!
Time for me to put the girls to bed, feed the catz, and go get my feet up. DP and Bill went to a race in Waxhaw, over to our south, and Anoreth went to Hang Out. Don’t know when we’ll see them back! At least it’s getting cooler in here; it was 82 a little while ago.
You need a roof before it rains.
Lots of root words come from the Greek. One should never say anything hard and fast about the roots of words until they have researched it all.
I’m still waiting for my A/C to come on. It really wasn’t
“warm” today, but the wind had blown me into oblivion. I hate the feel of it AND the sound!
Enjoy the quiet while you can!
Looks like half of a barn door to me. But then, I grew up in the wild, wild West!
Get that roof on ASAP! You live in CA....weather changes as often as traffic lights do.
It's good use of materials. The door is made of siding and trim, and the diagonals give it strength.
I faced a similar problem with my "playhouse". I wanted a door smaller in scale than a standard door. I ended up cutting several inches off a standard door. I have to duck when I enter.
I think mine has more room, although the stairway takes up a lot of it.
My dad was a carpenter...
And so...to bed.
G’night y’all!
Mine too. He knew how to use a handsaw.
I learned that from him, but I have other tools too.
1686, “temporary hut for soldiers during a siege,” from Fr. barraque, from Sp. barraca (1249) “soldier's tent,” lit. “cabin, hut,” perhaps from barro “clay, mud,” which is probably of Celt-Iberian origin. Meaning “permanent building for housing troops” (usually in plural) is attested from 1697
Good morning all. Up, had breakfast, mostly packed, and soon I’ll check out and go tour Helsinki before heading to the airport hotel.
Highs in the mid-50s — almost summer!
