FR Grammar Pet Peeves (Shameless Vanity)

I apologize for the shameless vanity, but I'm going to propose a thread for today: Your pet peeves about others' grammar on FR.
I'm not innocent. But, can we please use apostrophes for possessives and not use apostrophes for plurals?
Please chime in with your pet peeves.
Possessive Example:
Correct: My dog's bone is in the yard.
Incorrect: My dogs bone is in the yard.
Plural Example:
Correct: My dogs are in the yard.
Incorrect: My dog's are in the yard.
Admin Mod: Please move this thread as appropriate.

I've had a million of 'em over the years, not just reading through posts, but listening to ads on television, the grammar is atrocious. The last several years, my number one peeve has been
reason is because. No matter that the speaker will sometimes insert other words after reason, some kind of description language, when he follows it with is because he is REDUNDANT.
Reason is happens to be the definition of
because!!
It's all over, everywhere I read, listen, no matter the education level, high school student to professional journalist. When I'm listening to a news broadcast and hear "The reason is ..." my teeth begin to grind because I know I will not be hearing the appropriate "that" or "due to" but inevitably, I hear "because" -- ARGH!!

That reminds me of my very liberal history teacher who said. “Guns don’t kill people. People who say ‘guns don’t kill people, people kill people’ kill people.”

Another awful one that nearly everyone uses is “try and do something” instead of “try to do something”.

“Pro-active” is not a word. You mean either “anticipatory”, or “a professional practicing his profession”.

Has anyone mentioned the word "do" being used instead of "due" as in "do to unforseen circumstances?"
Another is "tow the line" when it should be "toe the line."

Your and you’re.
Your is possessive of course.
You’re = contraction of you are.
So simple.
Many people, not on FR especially, but the general public, have no clue there is a “you’re”. They seem very ignorant when they incorrectly use “your” for everything.
For really bad spelling and grammar, Ebay listings are especially revealing of the poor education that the public school system provides. It is astounding how people can’t spell the most simple of words.
