You are lucky.
Things have been going so bad at work for me, I started losing my sense of humor.
Is it Friday yet?

May I ask what you do? I take it you work around a bunch of liberals.

I have been going to grad school to obtain that ever so elusive Master’s Degree, but the one class I needed this fall was not offered. I was advised to sit this semester out and do some work on my thesis. One problem: I have yet to come up with my thesis topic. I feel like I will be 80 years old before I finally get that degree!!

His sister Bonnie was like that when she was born as well. Here she is exhausted by all the excitement of her brother's birth. He was born about 5.30am so by the end of the day I think she was pretty exhausted.

I’m going flying this weekend. I’ll get some good photos and post a few on this thread.

Hang in there! I’m surprised that you’ve gotten so far w/o a topic - is your adviser helping you at all?

If I can give you some advice, don’t try to do too much. Students often want to show how much they know and want to throw in everything. A narrow topic makes a better thesis and takes some pressure off of the student.

Remember - the idea is to get out of the program and do whatever the grad degree is training you to do. Don’t make your thesis your life’s work.

Wow -- what a baby. All that hair!

Good to see y'all, folks. I haven't checked in much, as I've had a very busy September and things are just getting back to normal. Spent a week camping up in Ontario and in the Adirondacks, then headed down to a conference in Maryland for work.

I'll be going camping with some siblings and young nephews next weekend, so long as the weather is good.

LOL - I was tied up at the weekend so did not manage to get the thread up then because my friend (grandpa) was preparing the bathroom floor ready to lay some new lino for me.

Sorry to hear that I have been crazy busy at work and consequently have not spent as much time as I would like to have on Free Republic this last couple of months.

Thanks for starting the thread. I’m just trying to survive another year. I’m way down in the market, so that’s depressing.

I work in a lumberyard. The owners dont talk politics.
The economy is freaking out a lot of contractors. They fear Obama as President as much as we do. The company dont want to hire anybody because of the winter season and we are down three men so the remaining ones are working like dogs. The bad part is that safety is suffering because we are working harder and mistakes are getting made, so the mangement is pushing us harder to fix problems that wouldnt have happened if we had a couple more guys. Today we almost had a guy cut the tip of his finger off because he was rushing.
There has to be a easier way to make money. Maybe I will run for Senator.

Friday night is Gin and Tonic night. Watch some Monty Python and forget about the week.
