As mentioned in the September thread we are going to put up a monthly thread where we can all drop in from time to time during the month, just to say hello or post an update on what we are doing and anything that we maybe other singles would find interesting or helpful.
I am going post a few photos I have taken duirng the last few weeks and to start with here is photo of my friend's third grand child born on the 27th September 2008. This is his first grandson his daughter having had 2 girls previously.
Tommy a few hours old.
Tommy with his mum - just a few hours old
That kid’s got a lotta hair already!
That is a beautiful mother baby picture.
Tuesday...it’s the weekend, bay-beeeeee!
You are lucky.
Things have been going so bad at work for me, I started losing my sense of humor.
Is it Friday yet?
May I ask what you do? I take it you work around a bunch of liberals.
I have been going to grad school to obtain that ever so elusive Master’s Degree, but the one class I needed this fall was not offered. I was advised to sit this semester out and do some work on my thesis. One problem: I have yet to come up with my thesis topic. I feel like I will be 80 years old before I finally get that degree!!
Wow still Tuesday and the week end is here already.
Is it Friday yet?
Still Tuesday. But "the weekend" is a state of mind, dontchaknow?
I’m going flying this weekend. I’ll get some good photos and post a few on this thread.
Hang in there! I’m surprised that you’ve gotten so far w/o a topic - is your adviser helping you at all?
If I can give you some advice, don’t try to do too much. Students often want to show how much they know and want to throw in everything. A narrow topic makes a better thesis and takes some pressure off of the student.
Remember - the idea is to get out of the program and do whatever the grad degree is training you to do. Don’t make your thesis your life’s work.
Good to see y'all, folks. I haven't checked in much, as I've had a very busy September and things are just getting back to normal. Spent a week camping up in Ontario and in the Adirondacks, then headed down to a conference in Maryland for work.
I'll be going camping with some siblings and young nephews next weekend, so long as the weather is good.
Dang, snugs, that’s some funky color scheme there...(laugh)...
Thanks for starting the thread. I’m just trying to survive another year. I’m way down in the market, so that’s depressing.
I work in a lumberyard. The owners dont talk politics.
The economy is freaking out a lot of contractors. They fear Obama as President as much as we do. The company dont want to hire anybody because of the winter season and we are down three men so the remaining ones are working like dogs. The bad part is that safety is suffering because we are working harder and mistakes are getting made, so the mangement is pushing us harder to fix problems that wouldnt have happened if we had a couple more guys. Today we almost had a guy cut the tip of his finger off because he was rushing.
There has to be a easier way to make money. Maybe I will run for Senator.
Friday night is Gin and Tonic night. Watch some Monty Python and forget about the week.
