Vegetarian Driver Suffers Pig Nightmare on Motorway
The sight of a truckload of pigs headed for the sausage factory proved too much to bear for a German vegetarian woman who lost control of her vehicle as a result. Unfortunately, she crashed into another truck carrying pigs.
A vegetarian woman driving down a motorway in Germany was so traumatized at the sight of a truck loaded with pigs that she lost control of her vehicle and careered into another truck, which was also filled with pigs, police said.
"The woman found herself driving next to a large pig transport truck and the sight of the pitiful animals made her feel so sick that she jerked her steering wheel and started swerving," police in the western town of Gütersloh said in a statement released on Thursday.

So do I, with gravy...
Thank you, it’s good to know that I’m not alone on my “lamb boycot”. My friend had a ewe that was her pet, I heard such sweet stories all the time. It just reinforced my stance.
“Call me nuts, what can I say.”
You’re nuts!
If you weren’t suposed to eat them they wouldn’t have meat under their football loter shell.
How did she know where they were going? Maybe the pigs were being delivered to a farm, and she was all upset over nothing.
Or maybe she was drinking, and this was her cover story.
LOL!
Your post made me smile.
But I still won’t touch a lamb. :)
Not saying these pigs were from factory farms (which have been largely banned in Europe), but they are pretty prevalent in the US. I’d recommend Scully’s book, Dominion, for more information. It’s a tough read though; if you’ve never heard of factory farms, and have an ounce of decency in you, you will be utterly shocked and disgusted by what humans have done to God’s creatures for the sake of cheap food.
Matt Scully’s book is very conservative-based and thoroughly grounded in Christian moral doctrine, which makes the description of what actually goes on inside factory farms (a/k/a intensive farms) all the more disturbing. There is nothing even close to decent, animal husbandry or God’s call to exercise dominion over the animals that takes place in those awful pits of hell. It only goes on because of government subsidies to horrible outfits like Clinton’s big backer- Perdue; and tens of thousands of illegal immigrant workers.
Yes I agree. I think the animals should be treated better, and yes I also agree that it is probably an evil being perpetuated.
Boy are we going to get pummeled.
She also got very upset when we passed a truckload of chickens, evidently headed for the slaughterhouse. She commented that she was afraid that they were cold on their final journey.
My wife's a vegetarian.
So am I. It upsets me for animals to suffer--and for humans to suffer.
A ventriloquist is walking past an Indian farm in the country side. He sees an Indian man tending to his farm and decides to have some fun with him.
He says to the Indian, “How does your dog over there like it here on the farm?” The Indian replies, “Dog not talk.”
The ventriloquist throws his voice and the dog says, “I like it here. The Master is good to me and feeds me well.”
The Indian is amazed. Next, the ventriloquist asks, “What about that cat there? He like it here too?” The Indian replies, “Cats not talk.”
The cat then speaks up, “I love it here. Plenty of mice and my Master the Indian likes to stroke my fur all the time.” The Indian is astounded.
The ventriloquist then looks over to the pen where the sheep are kept. “Hey sheep,” he calls out. “How do you like life here on the farm?”
“Sheep lie!!!!!” the Indian shouts.
Well, there are some jerks here, like every site. But I think most people here are decent and, if they would at least consider the horrible treatment of farm animals in an intensive or factory farm setting, I think they’d be equally repelled. Mostly, though, people prefer not to know about how the food on their table got there. I have great respect for true farmers that at least allow their animals to see the light of day or room to walk about (simple kindnesses that the vast majority of chickens, pigs, and cows in the US are denied). Intensive farming may well be one of modern man’s greatest sins—even Pope Benedict XVI has spoken out against the evils of factory farms.
Scully had an article published a couple years ago in Buchanan’s National Review—for that alone I will have respect for Buchanan, though I disagree on many other things. It took a lot of character for Buchanan to publish a pro-animal piece and I believe it even got the cover. I’ll try to find it and post it here.
My old tagline, If god didn’t intend for man to eat animals, Why did he make them out of MEAT?
That makes the my 'suspect list' Hillbilly, Aggie, Texan, Oklahoman, Scotsman, Irishman, Aussie, Kiwi and Indian (casino not dot). Lots of fun to be had with that joke.
Back on topic. I don't think they use whole pigs for sausage. Only the bad parts.
Yep, you are probably going to get pummeled for saying that. Although I should add that it would be an honor to get pummeled along with you ....I love meat, I think humans are omnivores and thus meat has always been part of their diet (certain scientific studies show that human brain mass took a leap when our pre-human ancestors shifted to an omnivore diet from a vegetarian one), and I adore sitting down to a pepper steak with mashed potatoes and onion rings. However, that doesn't mean that the animal that died to provide me with the meat for that pepper steak has to be treated like crap.
I actually have a video on my laptop that shows people in China (I use the term 'people' very loosely) taking some type of raccoon-dog and skinning them for their fur. The thing is that they are skinning them while they are still alive, and then afterward throw the skinless animal (still alive) into a heap with others where they slowly die. (Note: when I say skinning i do not mean shearing ....like you shear the wool of a ship. I mean literally skinning the poor b@$tards ....removal of skin). The way they do it is they make incisions on the back legs and down the belly, and then strip the skin off like you would pull a sweater over your head. Those things are yelping like crazy (to prevent them from biting they are slammed onto the ground or jumped on several times).
Now, I know those guys want to make a living. I understand that. However, why not just put the animals out of their misery first. Kill the thing, and then skin it. It even appears that would be much easier (I know in my rural area when we skin the animal is long dead by then).
We may have dominion over animals, but that does not mean we should skin animals alive just to see them hop around (they were doing the skinning in front of some cages that housed other raccoon-dogs, which were seeing everything that was happening. Those caged animals were going bananas due to the sight and the smell). Hey, if people want to wear fur that is alright. Just kill the d@mn animals first.
This story was of special interest to me since near my hometown of Flushwater, Arkansas is a huge chicken farm (the farm is huge, not the chickens). Last week the town’s resident paleontologist, Dr. B. A. Spicer, suffered a mental breakdown due to a shortage of vital nutrients in his vegetarian diet.
According to witnesses he drove his bio-diesel Moped into a chicken coop on the farm while screaming, “Be brave, Chickens, you have the blood of dinosaurs in your veins!”.
The poor fellow was attacted and killed by the chickens.
Farm manager, Pepe Salter said he wasn’t surprized.
“Chickens aren’t too smart. I doubt if any of them even knows what a dinosaur is”.
Just think if she were Muslim, she could have hit the Lotto!
Hopefully, she is an American who left here when Bush was elected.
You are probably right, but I thought those folks went to France.
Like we keep telling our youngest son, who up until now would not touch sauerkraut, “If it weren’t for sauerkraut and pigs, none of us would be here right now!”
We are mostly vegetarian too, for health reasons, but we eat meat about once a week on Sundays.
I thought if it wasn’t for alcohol most of us wouldn’t be here?
