Vegetarian Driver Suffers Pig Nightmare on Motorway
The sight of a truckload of pigs headed for the sausage factory proved too much to bear for a German vegetarian woman who lost control of her vehicle as a result. Unfortunately, she crashed into another truck carrying pigs.
A vegetarian woman driving down a motorway in Germany was so traumatized at the sight of a truck loaded with pigs that she lost control of her vehicle and careered into another truck, which was also filled with pigs, police said.
"The woman found herself driving next to a large pig transport truck and the sight of the pitiful animals made her feel so sick that she jerked her steering wheel and started swerving," police in the western town of Gütersloh said in a statement released on Thursday.

We must know: were the pigs wearing lipstick?
I have to admit, that I too always feel sad when I drive by those trucks carrying animals to slaughter houses. Call me nuts, what can I say.
“Go, meat!...”
Yeah, but then you eat a burger and feel better.
People Eating Tasty Animals!!!
I rest my case........
I remember being stuck behind a truck carrying hogs. Bits of straw, dust, and who knows what were wafting over my car in a kind of smog. It was a warm day, and the smell was ... well it was hard to breathe.
Thank God she lives in Germany. No one on the streets would be safe if she was driving in Kansas City...
I am not buying this story. There are no vegetarians in Germany!
Me too. Eating meat is fine (I’m a meat eater), but factory farms are a great evil. Hope Matt Scully will have some influence over McCain-Palin on this; his book, Dominion, is one of the most moving things I’ve ever read.
Factory farms?
Me too. :-( I’m not a vegetarian, but I love animals.
Here in Southern Delaware, we are the broiler chicken capital of the world.
Everyday you see trailer trucks carrying cages of chickens bound for the three processing plants in our county. These chickens are grown locally, and it is a huge business here.
Three large plants require an untold number of chickens to be delivered everyday.
People have jobs like “eviscerator process foreman”, etc.
When we see these trucks on the highway, my wife can’t bear to look at them.
So I provide her with a running commentary, like:
“Oh look, honey, the chickens think they are going for a ride. Yeah, their first and last ride!”
” There’s tomorrow’s Chicken McNuggets!”
” Hey, chickens, guess what’s for supper? YOU!”
Or: when we are buying packaged chickens at the supermarket: “Look, honey. We saw this chicken on the truck on Monday! I thought he looked familiar.”
Thank God she loves me.
I”m not a vegetarian either, but I FLAT OUT refuse to eat lamb. No way no how.
I agree with you. I won’t eat lamb or veal. If I ever went to China, I would never eat dog or cat. The thought of it makes me sick.
