August winds down as we head into the last months of the '08 political season.
Russia's withdrawal from Georgia is murky and ambiguous as is the US response to the situation.
Pakistani President Musharef resigns today , and a TD moves over Cuba headed toward FL.
That is one of my favorite sandwiches, with a smashed garlic bulb or two with mayo. When I eat onions or garlic, I make sure Roomey has some.
I’d think Gen. Franks would be a superb choice. Which is why I’m convinced there isn’t a snowball’s chance in heck it’ll happen.
Things are escalating with this white powder business at McCain HQ’s. It’s a sad state of affairs in this country anymore.
I read a local news story here in CO that they decided not to use razor wire at the detention cells they are preparing for those arrested at the Party of the Criminally Insane’s convention. They were going to use razor wire but the lefties didn’t like it and started referring to the detention site as “Gitmo on the Platte”.
The article said that if someone was sprayed with pepper spray or tear gas, that they’d be decontaminated before they were taken to this detention center. If you could make bail you’d be let loose after being fingerprinted and processed. If you couldn’t make bail, you’d be transferred to a jail where you’d await a hearing.
These detention facilities were of significant size, room for hundreds of people IIRC.
Mr. Prairie and I will be circling the Lions Den(ver) and will be about 40 miles away during next week’s circus. We made camp site reservations about 2 weeks ago and got the last site available.....I suppose the place will be filled up with RATS.
Coincidentally we received a McCain bumpersticker a couple of days ago in a campaign donation request. I’d put it on the rig to explode a few heads but I’m afraid they’d probably do some real damage (scratches, smash headlights etc.) so probably won’t.
Feel better Molly.
Meant to put you on my post 223, IG.
Hi prairie. We might want to try to meet up somewhere next week. I will be in dire straights with all the raw sewage gushing all over the place with the invasion of the radical socialists, and would love the breath of fresh air of meeting up with you and Mr. Prairie. FR mail me if you think you can work something into your schedule.
I don't have to go near downtown to commute to and from work if I drive. If I take the light rail, I will have a connection that is still a few miles from downtown, so the contamination will hopefully be minimal. It is such a GREAT shame to live in the vicinity of such a huge gathering of politically and otherwise, insane people.
Good morning, Molly. Hope that cold is on its way out. Yesterday, Bennett announced that he was not coming to Denver next week. Instead, he is going to New York City to do the show from there. He sort of apologized to the Saturday Morning Denver Girls for not coming. I wonder what happened to change his plans? I won’t have access to FR today until this evening.
Good morning all.
The scheduled debates have all libs for moderators Jim Lehrer, Tom Brokaw, nd Bob Schieffer
Good morning.
Boys are still sleeping. Hope they sleep for another hour or so.
Good morning.
Last night I got a call from hubby’s sister. She needs us to look after my MIL during the day tomorrow. Sure. But then, although they are passing within a mile of the house, they cannot bring her to the house. They’ll call to let us know when to meet at a nearby shopping center.
The trouble is, they’re coming through at the same time I need to take the girls in the other direction to campus. So, either they can wait about 20 minutes at the shopping center or bring MIL directly to our home.
What do you want to bet they’ll wait at the shopping center? This is the same sister who has been to our home exactly twice since 1976. They’re always too busy. Once, when we were just home from being overseas for 4 years, we were all at MIL’s house, hubby and I would enter a room where they were, within 5 minutes they would have something to do in another room. So, we followed them in there. Again, they would move. We followed. This was the pattern for the entire weekend. Nothing was ever said, but we just couldn’t engage them in conversation. Further, at JT’s wedding NONE of hubby’s side of the family attended. Mine came from all over the US and even Berlin. Hubby’s family wonders why we don’t spend much time with them. /steam
Anyway, we have MIL’s room all prepped (I did it last night) in case she needs to nap today or spend the night.
Sounds to me like sil and family are missing out, big time!
Strange.
I heard Bennett mention the change a couple of days ago. It's his CNN assignment which required the move. They wanted him to report from NY. That's the way I heard it anyway.
Good morning everyone. I think I'll go back to bed. had a meeting this a.m., but no way...
Enjoy CO, prairie. Lucky you!
Jem, your in-laws are rude!
Take care of yourself. I think you made the right call on the meeting. Colds respond better when you’re not stressing your body. (((Molly)))
I sure hope you feel better soon!
A full night’s sleep last night!!
It misted rain all day yesterday and it is gloomy and overcast today.
A weekend roadtrip begins after lunch tomorrow, so I’d better get the details attended to today.
We’d like that 2/3’rds. Freepmail is waiting for you.
Good morning everybody.
We’ve been enjoying CO for the past week Molly. Such beautiful scenery, clean smelling air, cool temps although it got hot yesterday afternoon.
Hope you’re getting better.
Lysie, I quite agree with you!
Jem, what is their problem? Makes it hard to be a Christian dealing with "people" like that!
Molly, feel better soon.
BTW, yesterday I was involved in an incident where I completely lost it; my upbringing, my faith's teachings, my maturity, my cool, my you name it.
I stopped at a 7-11 to buy a soft drink on my way to the other center I run. there was one space in the lot and it was a bit tight due to a van being parked on the line. But I started to pull in anyway and the guys in the truck on the left were getting into the truck so I waited for them before pulling over to the left. Meanwhile, this "woman" wearing a muslim headress comes out of the store and stops since she couldn't get in between our cars to get in her VAN PARKED ON THE LINE!
So I put my car in reverse to back out and pull over more for her but beofre I could do this, she comes up from the back of her van and punched my window! I was so shocked I shouted "You are so rude, I was trying to move over for you! And don't touch my property!
I know, not very mature.
Anywy, she told me to shut up and laughed the whole time she was pulling out, and I completely lost it.
when I went into the 7-11, not one man was in there talking to anybody.
Meanwhile, I was almost in tears, and quivering inside so much I almost lost my lunch.
These people really want us to believe they are here in the US and want to live peacefully side by side with us? I just don't believe it; I do believe they are teaching hate in some of their Muslim schools in Northern Virginia!
