Good morning.

Last night I got a call from hubby’s sister. She needs us to look after my MIL during the day tomorrow. Sure. But then, although they are passing within a mile of the house, they cannot bring her to the house. They’ll call to let us know when to meet at a nearby shopping center.

The trouble is, they’re coming through at the same time I need to take the girls in the other direction to campus. So, either they can wait about 20 minutes at the shopping center or bring MIL directly to our home.

What do you want to bet they’ll wait at the shopping center? This is the same sister who has been to our home exactly twice since 1976. They’re always too busy. Once, when we were just home from being overseas for 4 years, we were all at MIL’s house, hubby and I would enter a room where they were, within 5 minutes they would have something to do in another room. So, we followed them in there. Again, they would move. We followed. This was the pattern for the entire weekend. Nothing was ever said, but we just couldn’t engage them in conversation. Further, at JT’s wedding NONE of hubby’s side of the family attended. Mine came from all over the US and even Berlin. Hubby’s family wonders why we don’t spend much time with them. /steam

Anyway, we have MIL’s room all prepped (I did it last night) in case she needs to nap today or spend the night.

Sounds to me like sil and family are missing out, big time!
Strange.

They’re either jealous or have said sometime, done something you don’t know about and are afraid of you. They sound a little goofy, to me.
