Derek Trucks kicks some major butt. I believe he is married to Susan Tedesci. I have seen her play live and she can really kick a$$. I have a live studio CD of her but it downplays her guitar work, and focus' on keyboard. But believe me, she can light up a fret board.

Are those crushed velvet pants hes wearing?!Could be... Given the guitar he's playing there, he's probably playing "Awaken" from the "Going for the One" album. One of the most amazing rock guitar solos ever, and played on a 12 string guitar!

Ray Manzarek is a KEYBOARDIST.I think you mean Robbie Krieger.
Link Wray. He was kicking azz into his 70s.
Or could you mean Phil Manzanera, lead guitarist for Roxy Music, who's currently playing in David Gilmour's band?

Im going to see another favorite in a few days - ALEC LIFESON with Rush. Im pretty sure they know all their songs! But, Rush is a bit TOO scripted and perfected - so it was really fun to see Keaggy and his band just jam.I'm a huge Rush fan... The first concert I ever went to was their Farewell to Kings tour. And once I saw them 3 times in 2 weeks! They'll be in KC in a week or two, but I can't justify $80 plus tickets. Yes is coming as well, but again, I just can't afford these astronomical ticket prices.

Also, Ry Cooder. Theres no one else like him.He played the parts seen as being done by Ralph Machio in "Crossroads." The movie sort of sucked. But if you can find a soundtrack album from the movie, and you like or love blues, BUY IT! It's AWESOME!!!!!
It would have been nice had they gotten the guitar duel between Ry Cooder and Steve Via from the movie onto the soundtrack, but my guess is that Steve was under contract by another publishing house, and they wouldn't allow it.

No contest.
Phil Keaggy, hands down.
Try looking up some of his stuff on YouTube, especially
"Agora (The Marketplace)"; "The Reunion"; "Riverton"; "March of the Clouds".
He simply has so much talent it is unfair to other guitarists.
Honorable mentions:
Al DiMeola
Larry Carlton
Christopher Parkening
Bruce Cockburn
Cheers!

Lets not leave out Pat Martino - a great Jazz guitarist: Soloing Here If I remember correctly, Pat had some sort of debilitating neurological problem, that required him to start over from square one and learn how to play the guitar all over again, AFTER having a very successful career.

As a former guitarist and banjo picker myself, I have to include Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Clarence White, Doc Watson, and Stanley Jordan. Jethro Burns on mandolin, of course.
