Angry programmers riot, shouting 'Death to India'
The Daily Redundancy ^

Posted on 03/14/2008 11:46:02 AM PDT by chordmaster

SAN JOSE, CA (TDR) - Hundreds of angry programmers took to the streets burning Indian flags, and chanting anti-Indian slogans after Wednesday morning production meetings. The protesters - mostly young males - have reached a boiling point after years of technological imperialism and failed Indian programming policies. Busy midday traffic came to a halt as this once proud high-tech mecca was transformed into raging, socially-challenged powder keg of humanity...

first people blame mexico for stealing jobs, then canada...nobody wants to blame themselves for not being able to compete with the rest of the world.

It’s tough to compete with someone who only charges $5 per hour and doesn’t have nearly the regulations and taxes of this country.

Sure, I blame myself for electing idiots to Congress who try to make it difficult for businesses in this country to compete.

I work hard to compete with these people every day. It's disheartening, however, when I learn that my international (Indian) competitors are being subsidized by their government.

As mentioned before, I worked for a major DoD contractor. I read one of their newsletters before I laid off and it mentioned they are sending a lot of work over to India now. I don't know how they get around the security clearance type of laws but I am concerned. I am sure with an across the board democrat gov't coming in November, it will happen much more. We are the only country in the world that will not defend our own workers and in fact, sell them out.

Last night, I was talking with some people and one of the things that come in mind is how customer service really sucks ! Go to any store, there is no one to help you on the floor, when you get ready to pay for the items and get out, there are one or two lines open and the checkout line is very long. Wal-Mart is a good example and one of the reasons I will not shop there. I have been to New Zealand and Japan and I found customer service at their stores (not Wal-Mart) were pretty good especially in Japan. I have been to the Tokyu Dept Store which is the same company that runs the trains and their service was pretty good. A lot of help and the prices were reasonable. In my opinion, until service improves, the executive salaries can be used to hire better help which will get better business, therefore better value for shareholders. These executives and their rubber stamp boards need to be run out of town.

Lol!

Some truth to it, though. If you go out to the tech web site forums and read the questions, you see quite a few from people who are obviously not based in the USA, most likely based in India.

And many of the questions they ask are the most rudimentary type you can find.

The current Gov. of Michigan is in her first term, I believe. The Republican who ran against her was part of the Amway family fortune, and a very religious conservative. I believe his beliefs were successfully made out to be “extreme”, and he lost. My mom lived there, so I used to have a bit of an in on it.

"It’s tough to compete with someone who only charges $5 per hour and doesn’t have nearly the regulations and taxes of this country."

Sincerely, show me a foreign contractor who charges $5 per hour for C++ code. The lowest I've seen is $20. ...assuming PHP and the like fall into another category (server hogs).

“In Germany, they came first for the Communists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist;

And then they came for the trade unionists, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a trade unionist;

And then they came for the Jews, And I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew;

And then . . . they came for me . . . And by that time there was no one left to speak up.”

Sounds like Dell’s tech help. I would rather buy a new computer than call their technical support. Yet McCain loves NAFTA.

FYI, the NA in NAFTA stands for "North American". It has nothing to do with tech jobs being outsourced to India.

Today, I we had a "dog an pony show" for some customers.

With our competitors, they send their images to India to be process. After a few months, the customer will receive the final product.

They were absolutely amazed today, as they watch my software process the images in only one minute! As they stood around my computer, they could see the results live, as the images were being processed.

Instead of months, their final product could be obtained within an hour.

This is the difference between Indian programmers and U.S. software engineers.

We know how to make it work!

"they also care about their education, unlike most fruits of our public school system"

The public school system that is sponsored by Our Kids Against Your Kids, the same people who sponsor media broadcasts and use third world slaves for labor.

Interviewer: Why is your company so involved in public education, even filing briefs in favor of affirmative action?

CEO: Because my sister is a school administrator, my cousin...well, she's a university instructor,...

Gee, I was in downtown San Jose on Wednesday at a conference filled with young male programmers and the few odd old woman programmers like myself. It really was rather boring, with 3 and 4 letter acronyms being freely thrown around, accompanied by the sound of ohs and ahs by the male participants. I really with I could have found this protest, I would have gladly participated. Lol
