A Beautiful Post, Amy, Bob, and
Billie. I Love to See All the Neat Poems and Pics that are Always at Amy's Place!
I Recently Wrote a Poem about the Remnants of an Old Bridge Here where I Live, but my Writing is Mediocre, Lol. But the Bridge is Always Food for Thought whenever I See it.

The Bridge
I am the Remnants of a Bridge
That Sits Upon a Lonely Ridge
Once I Spanned Across the 'Crik;
Now, I am just Three Lone Sticks.
Oh, the Stories I could Tell
Of Years of Use before I Fell
Horses, Coaches, Wagon Trains
Crossed me to Access the Plains.
My Work Now Done, I am at Rest
Way Up High Upon a Crest
A Fascination to the Eye
Of Everyone who Passes by.
Through Wind and Rain and Storm I Stand
Bringing Mystery to the Land.
The People have All Come and Gone;
My Bois D'Arc Wood Goes On and On.

There it is, my favorite place on earth... the Grand Canyon.
P.S. I also have a friend whose birthday is tomorrow:)
To: Kitty Mittens

Wow ..... You are very good, Kitty Mittens. Thank you.
Your poem is awesome and your old bridge picture is intriguing.
Thank you for sharing both with us.
Have a Terrific Thursday.

Thank you So Much, Sweet Amy! My Neighbor Told me that Stage Coaches Used to Use that Old Bridge, and that there was a Real Tall Beam still in the Middle of the Creek when he Bought his Property 32 Years Ago, but that Beam has Since Washed Away. This is a Neat Place; there's an Old Hitching Post Near the Yard where Men Used to Stop and Hitch their Horses, my Neighbor Said, Plus a Water Well that was Hand-Dug in the Late 1800's. A House Used to be Here, as Well, but it Burned Down 5 Years after my Neighbor Bought the Property Next Door.

Do I dare ask you what part of Texas that old bridge is located in?
It makes me want to visit my Aunt and Uncle. He in Amarillo and she is in Pampa. I also have a cousin in Knox City.
Man, I need to get to Texas to do some more genealogy research! :)

Nice poem, Kitty Mittens, and your photo as always is very striking. I like reading about the Old West history of the bridge and the area there.

Excellent work, K-M!
Don’t be too quick to sign a contract with Amy. She’s a slave-driver and doesn’t pay enough.

Thank you for your Compliments on my Poem, 'Dita, bp, and Nicknamed Bob! I'm Glad I have a Good Neighbor that Lives Nearby that Knows Some of the History of the Property he and I Both Live On. His Property and mine all Used to be One Huge Piece, and Included my Other Neighbor's Place on the Other Side, and even the Land Across the Road, but Many Years Ago the Owner Split it Up into Several Hunks. My Neighbor Said Cattle Drives used to Cross that Bridge, also; they Must have Went Over it a Few at a Time, Lol.
The Bridge is in Bonham, Amy, and if you are ever in Texas, it would be Wonderful if you could Come By and See it. I Wish there was still Part of the Bridge Left on the Opposite Side of the Creek; I've Scoured the Ground for even a Hint of a Trace, but Found Nothing. :(
