OK, I have a question for Friday night amusement.
I went to get cat food out of the pantry for my kitty and it wasn't sealed properly so hundreds of ants got in it. I didn't want to throw it away so I decided to nuke them. I set it on high for 30 seconds. They went crazy but still alive. I repeated, still alive. I tried 1 minute, still alive. Another minute, still alive. (This is a brand new Mocrowave) In total, 7 1/2 minutes. The bag melted and some of the ants were sitll alive! I think they may take over the world.

I experimented because of this thread. I strive for accuracy!

The individual ants are too small to absorb the 900 MHz radiation - their bodies just do not work well as antennas for a wavelength of over a foot.

Sorry, microwave ovens operate at 2,500 mHz.
Too many other uses for the 900 mHz

They already took over the world.
I think that except for birds, (penguins in Antarctica), ants are the single most widespread species there is.

What is all the concern about ants in the cat food? Cats have cast iron stomachs. Ever see what they bring in to eat from the outside?
Besides, the ants add to the protein content of the cat food.
LOL
To: Chief Engineer
Except for the fact that if I leave them in the cat food I will attract a million more ants, I’m sure Cleo (the kitty) would love it!

I had a “Frigidaire” microwave 35 years ago that I am virtually certain operated at 900 MHz. However, I agree that 900 MHz is a very busy place.

Put the cat food on a cookie sheet, bake at 225 deg. for 30 minutes, store in closed plastic container.
Cat food with extra, added protein!
To: Chief Engineer
Why didn’t I think of that!
