It may well be time for a new conservative political party. The republicans have failed, and failed big-time to deliver for conservative causes. They seem inclined to nominate CINO only like Rudy Guliani or John McCain, and neither of those candidates is gonna do one thing for conservative issues.
Said another way, the republicans are part of the problem, and no part of any solution.
But it IS time, to make substantive changes, and the GOP seems not to be part of them.
I am horrified at the prospect of Rudy McRomney, but there is no one--NO ONE--in the GOP field who would be even remotely as bad as Hillary Clinton. Do not cast a vote that helps her and call yourself a patriot.
Thank you for getting rid of this nut. He's been under my skin for a while now. Glad he finally went over a cliff, LOL!
I will, however, miss being able to "ping" him to Nancy Pelosi's daily foolishness. :(
Wow, it's only been about 160 years! Gimme a break.
Man, that sucks. My Congressman's office treats me very well.
LOL!
Wow, you think someone should be burned alive for eternity for disagreeing with you! You are so reasonable and wise!
You should be the recipient of a Thorazine suppository.
[Uproarious applause] YES! How in the world can people not get this?
ZOT!
PWND!
I'm afraid voting only Republican does not make you a patriot. I hunt RINOs, not vote for them. People are too focused on the immediate election. It really doesn't matter if we avoid a Dem if we're just installing someone who won't advance the conservative cause.
I couldn't call myself a patriot if I let the Republican party know it had a monopoly on my vote no matter who it ran. Then why it do anything I wanted? What has the zombie allegiance to the Republican party left us with? John Paul Stevens, Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, 33 years of the legal murder of 47 million children and open borders.
If the GOP wants to ignore conservatives, we will have to make them take notice. Conservatives should have been furious that the party took their money and threw the election away. Throwing my vote away would be to not vote or to hand the GOP my vote. I'm happy to vote for any Republican conservative. But when they don't put one up, I have to vote Constitution Party.
By the way, Obama's all but sure to get the nomination, not Hillary, which is an even darker prospect.
However, I want to reform the GOP. But if we were able to, the notion of Guiliani getting the nomination would have been shot down as soon as he announced the exploratory committee.
That's what you don't get. We're talking about the difference between electing a person who isn't going to advance conservatism and a person who is downright evil. Sure, I'm no fan of libs, but are Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney gleefully evil? Would either of them fiddle while the U.S. was attacked, like Hillary and her hubby? The answer to both questions is "no."
I couldn't call myself a patriot if I let the Republican party know it had a monopoly on my vote no matter who it ran.
That's a self-serving way to cast the question. Try this: Can you call yourself a patriot if you cast a vote that helps a Marxist and a traitor get into the Oval Office?
As for sending messages, every time we social conservatives send the message to the GOP that we will throw our vote away if we don't get who we want no matter how disgusting, unfit and evil the resulting Dem president wil be we send them the message that they might as well just run a RINO so they can get some swing voters. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What has the zombie allegiance to the Republican party left us with?
OK, let's say that in 2008 10% of the electorate follows your lead and votes CP. What's the result? President Hillary. How many dead babies then? How many lib morons on the SCOTUS? The re-election of Bush got us Roberts and Alito; the election of Hillary will get us another Ginsburg.
By the way, Obama's all but sure to get the nomination, not Hillary, which is an even darker prospect.
First, there's not a bloody chance in the world. One term in the Senate is not going to get this guy anywhere. Second, presumably you're willing to have him as a President instead of Rudy Giuliani. How very wise--that'sll really advance conservatism.
Keep on accepting the media's version of things regarding the Republican field. After all, they have no ulterior motives.
Maybe you're right. GOP it is.
It's been tried again and again.
To have success you'd have to depend on the same people who now call themselves Republicans.
This is a pipe dream besides these "third party" candidates are a bunch of cowards. Why not try to entice them to joining the Republican party? Then we can get somewhere.
Why don't they want to help? They'd rather be able to stand before us all and pontificate that they're more moral than the rest of us.
How many of them have been elected to anything? How many of them might have been elected had they chosen to run as Republicans? How many Democrats have they been able to get elected?
What are you doing to help the situation?
You got it!! Just imagine what might happen if we all worked together to improve the Republican party rather than sitting around whining about how it's not perfect.
I live in Iowa, where we have a lot of say in who the nominee will be.
If you lived here, I would tell you to get off your butt and get busy promoting the guy you want. It's not hard. They want your vote BADLY.
It's not going to take that many votes for a potential nominee to get in the top three.
Would you do it, or would you just howl about the results afterward?
Yea, and you never have to prove a thing or be accountable for anything as you know full well, you'll never be elected to anything. These third party candidates are COWARDS. Many of them would be holding offices right now if they had run as Republicans. They don't want to have to run the risk of actually being elected.
If you want to know how third party financing works, at least in a broad sense, watch The Producers (the original, might as well be entertained while you're at it).
Sorry to show my ignorance but what is "The Producers"?
