I have seen the ads yesterday and now today! One is two gay men and the other is two lesbian women. This is a car ad folks and it is nothing more than a car for for gays and lesbians! I'm totally disgusted and goin to tell Lexus I will not ever buy any of their products!
Disgusting!
I think I'll trust the engineers over a safety analysis based merely on glancing at brochure photos.
Perhaps an engineer could explain the joke to you.
Ahem. I just saw the "lesbian" commercial. Girl, your "gaydar" is seriously broken. They are trying to figure out who the SUV belongs to, and neither one wants to leave because possession is 99% of the something or other.
And the blonde is kinda cute.
Of course not.... And when we see you and your 'neighbor' in the back yard; I'll just tell my kid:
"That guy is choking and his friend is giving him the heimlich maneuver...." Wink, wink....
where did you see the infamous commercial? I want to see it to make up my mind!!
This reminds me of when I saw Fried Green Tomatoes with my proper southern lady Mother in Law and afterwards mentioned it was about two lesbians.
She never got over it. And when I told her John Travolta was, hmm,,light in the loafers,,she said I was perverted.
You're obviously just being contrarian for the fun of demonstrating your skill at being an annoying asshole. Congradulations, in three posts I've had enough of your crap, thus proving you are indeed a highly skilled annoying asshole. Bye bye, have a nice life sometime.
Say "hi" to your 'neighbor' for me.
Well, a quick check of the back button on the remote reveals that it's The History Channel or Court TV...though there could have been some surfing going on at some point so buyer beware.
I knew Fried Green Tomatoes was lizzie B4 I went to see it but I was trying to be nice. The things we do for love...
Yep. Twice, this being one, I've gone to a thread thinking it was a joke.....only to find out that the thread starter was as serious as a heart attack. Worries me for a nano second that I'm just NOT getting it!
Now, I realize that my perfectly good people gaydar needs to be updated to detecting gay ads and gay cars and trucks! ACK
My wife hadn't laughed this hard all week. This thread was just what she needed to cheer her up.
I saw it on GAYTV.
I'm doing a first for me. Have the football game on and I'm fast forwording the game so I can see this commercial. Have seen the male one a day ago but have yet to see the one with the women.
Perhaps the football game is not the best place to catch this commercial? The lifetime channel?
LOVE that damn movie!
haha it was a joke, I saw it earlier in the day during a commercial break during a game.
Are you saying that the Golf Channel caters to queers? And if so, why are you watching?
Me? I don't think that the commercial is gay or that golf is gay.
I'll admit that those guys look a bit metro but that seems to be stylish among yuppy suburbanites.
I guess you have to be in a certain mind set to quickly equate a clean garage with anal sex.
I'd sure hate to think that the condition of my garage really means something else....yikes!
1. They definitely are coming from two different households, are first shown walking down the steps of separate homes.
2. The car is parked directly between their driveways making it difficult to determine who it's for.
3. Both women don't have short hair? The blond has long hair tied at the back in a pony tail.
IMO it is a big stretch for anyone to come to the conclusion that this ad is directed towards the gay market. It is very obvious that the ad is about 1 woman getting a Lexus for Xmas and one that is not getting it. Their is doubt about who it is for. I suppose if someone is looking for something gay their is a strange look from the woman with dark hair towards the blond. She has a strange glance at her but that is right after she glances at the car. I interpret that as a look to indicate that she wonders if the car is hers.
Would I buy a Lexus; if I loved it; and thought it was a great car; one of the best to drive etc. . .all to which it gets high marks, for sure. . .easier to ask myself if I would give up the car I love because of 'target' marketing such as this. . .the addage of 'politics ARE local' comes to mind. I love my car; and cannot imagine choosing another car because of advertising.
But for the same reason; politics being local. . . I do not want the makers of this great car bringing home a political message couched in their advertising. 'Sexual orientation' by definition; creates it's own limitations; seems the marketing appeal is limiting as well.
"the owner of Lexus is gay"
Lexus is a division of Toyota, which is a publicly traded corporation. There is no "owner", per se.
