Fake boobs are a 'turn-off' for men

London, Oct. 12: Women who are planning to undergo a breast enhancement surgery should think twice before going ahead with it, for a new survey conducted in the UK has found that men prefer women more attractive when natural.

The poll for More magazine found that 85 percent of men aged 18 to 34 said that they hated plastic surgery and found it a "complete turn-off" in women.

The survey, which polled 1,600 men across the UK, found that a further 15 percent claimed that they wouldn't even notice women's cosmetic surgery.

"Women would be better off spending their money on new dress and shoes rather than fake breasts," Ananova.com quoted a spokeswoman for More magazine, as saying.

"They look at false cleavages but it is clear that it is a big turn off both sexually and in terms of forming a relationship. It seems as though women may have misjudged a lot of blokes," she added. (ANI)

Exactly. But isn't that where all this fakery is going? It's treating one's own body like it's a cow being led about for inspection by the meat marketers. So it shouldn't be a surprise that others treat that body as an object that has to meet certain criteria.

Ever read the book The Sexual Politics of Meat?

I've seen it in either the gender feminist section or the humor section the bookstore...

not because it's what men generally want, but because they feel it's what men ought to want

Disagree. Women think it's what men want because this is what men ogle.

Nudie women magazines fly off the shelves a lot faster than nudie men ones.

If you think men prefer to ogle silicone over flesh, you spend too much time watching TV and not enough time with men.

Nudie women magazines fly off the shelves a lot faster than nudie men ones.

First, nudie mags aren't actually that popular. Playboy is the best-seller at some 3 million copies. There are a hundred million men in the country; most men see one only rarely. The pornography tail shouldn't be wagging the female psychology dog.

Second, your example works both ways: as you say, magazines full of muscle-bound men with large genitals don't sell very well (particularly not to women), yet most men believe that's what women want nevertheless.

You can say, "well, women are right and men are wrong", but any woman who falls back on that should just go and get a boob job.

Not my point.

I said they ogle breasts whether silicone or not as it's not apparent initially what's fake and what's not.

Thus, it's not just that women think men OUGHT to want bigger breasts as you said...the lust of most male eyes makes it logical for women to assume this is a turn on for men.

There are way more men tempted by pornography than women. Your point there just won't fly.

But men conspicuously ogle women's butts, too. (There are even popular songs about it.) And yet, women don't think men ought to find them attractive, so they worry about whether their butts look too large. "Does this make my butt look big?" Woe to the man who answers in the affirmative, intending it as a compliment. If a woman's body image were truly beholden to the lusts of men, she'd usually be less concerned with shrinking her backside.

Do men prefer larger breasts to smaller breasts? Of course (up to a point). But that can only be simulated by silicone, much as a man might stuff a sock into his pants, or have alpha-male status airbrushed onto his cover shot. When finally revealed, they're likely to disappoint. I believe that most women who get implants already know this, but as they're not really out to please men, it doesn't matter to them.

That's true, I'm sure we all remember high school. And in college, the big-bazoomed ones at least initially get the most attention because it is difficult to not notice them. And let's be honest, it doesn't hurt in show biz either:

Dolly Parton is a very talented singer and actress, yet there are two things only that everybody remembers her by.

Yes they do, but an overly large butt is not usually admired by men. (Think of Rosie.)

Women know this which is why they want to make sure their butts are not too large...thus the question which rises from insecutity.

You sound a bit confused. Know that women are not attracted by the same things men are. They are different. The sooner a man figures this out the sooner he will be a good husband i.e. lover.

You don't think all women have the surgeries for the benefit of men? Are you serious?

Of the women I know who have had augentations strictly for cosmetic purposes, it was for their own personal body image and not for the man (men). Not that their husbands minded the end result...There is something about have lunch (breakfast and dinner) buckets for kids resulting in breast disappearance under armpits when in the prone position, which causes a woman to want to be a little more attractive and rediscover the appropriate position for their breast.

Uhm, more attractive huh? Guess who women are trying to look more attractive for? I've heard the argument before, but we are like animals in this regard; each sex tries to look good for the other sex (whether it is a conscience or not)

Clearly you think all women are out to try and please men and that's their only motivation. Personally, I know that's a naive, chauvinistic, and disappointing simplistic viewpoint.
