The theme for this weekend is Air Shows and comparing them in the US and Britain. I have picked Biggin Hill Air Show which is an ex RAF Station which is now in private ownership but continues to have an annual Air Show.
I last visited the airshow in 2000 but a friend of mine attended this year. The following are extracts from this year's program.

TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Chit/Chat; Food; Military/Veterans
KEYWORDS: aeronautics; airplanes; airshows; airtravel; bigginhill; company; flight; flirt; friendship; militaryaircraft; raf; singles; weekend; wingsoverpittsburgh

Hello, everyone. Just dropping by real quick.
Maximus_Ridiculousness will not be joining us this weekend. She went to Nevada with her husband and won't be back until Tuesday, I think. She asked me to tell everyone she says "Hi."

Sounds like a great topic. We're having Wings Over Pittsburgh this weekend, and since I work near the airport we've been seeing (and hearing) fighter jets flying near us in formation the last three days.
You going to the airshow? I'll be there tomorrow and possibly Sunday as well. I've been hearing jets all the time both from where I work at, the ground division for a major shipping company, Denny Hamlin is our NASCAR driver plus I live 2 miles away from work, both here in Moon Township. Mom says, the planes have been scaring all my cats except for Boo (16) and Pansy (19, almost). I'd love ot have seen some action from where I work at but I had to work but I did listen to the Blue Angel's chatter on my police scanner (it gets military UHF) and my co-workers got a big kick out of the way they draw out their words in an almost musical fashion as the leader goes through the acrobatics.

Home early after a long, hard physical work day. Passed on a few great outing this weekend just because I need to catch up on my Happy Housewife Detail......... ugh!
lots of folks out of town this weekend. many combining the 4th day off with a holiday week. smart move.
Hoody is in Cleveland visiting Rocky.. they will try to check in

Just watched The Patriot (AGAIN for the umteenth time) this week & again was amazed at the cold war mentality betwween France / Britian that was depeticed.
Almost like .. whatever side England is on.. French will be 180.

Never have I seen a red plane - sharp looking, eh? Thanks for these pictures snugs. I am always awed by these. Do you know where Ipswitch is?

OK, I was hoping to get some preliminary pics of this year's show as the various planes were practicing but I have been offive bound at work, although my co-workers enjoyed the Blue Angel's chatter on my police scanner. B-) Still, I do my best to please so I havce couple of pics of the Thunderbirds from 2005's show. I couldn't make it last year but at least I got a few good pics because I live a stone's throw away from the airport:

Thunderbirds 6 man formation - July 8th, 2005
Thunderbirds Diamond formation, July 8th, 2005.
I'm sure yuns know this already, but I turn 40 tomorrow, July 8th. B-P
