The theme for this weekend is Air Shows and comparing them in the US and Britain. I have picked Biggin Hill Air Show which is an ex RAF Station which is now in private ownership but continues to have an annual Air Show.
I last visited the airshow in 2000 but a friend of mine attended this year. The following are extracts from this year's program.

TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Chit/Chat; Food; Military/Veterans

My favourite warbird is the Lancaster, in December 2001 I visited RAF Bruntingthorpe which is the home of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and I took this photo of the Lancaster.

Food is often so expensive at these sort of events, though expensive I thought Biggin Hill's prices were not extortion I have seen worse instead stadiums at soccer games. At least at the airshows, you can carry in a small cooler of food & drinks, unlike stadium events!

Very true though I nearly always take a small packed lunch with me to soccer matches.
I usually take my backpack with me and it has a sandwich, packet of crisps (potato chips) and carton of drink as they do not like bottles with tops on going into the stadium even if it a plastic bottle. I suppose if you threw it could hurt someone even if plastic.

What is typical for an America food to put in the cool box? I listed earlier on thread what us Brtis put in is it similar?
Of course I missed one vital thing for an airshow most people would take some beer:0)

Howdy all...
Just got back from the Brewer game. Lost 3-1 to Da Cubbies...
The suite was nice. Sixteen private seats with a wide view of the field. Had our own private entrance, and a nice corridor. Inside was carpeted, provided heaters for sausages, TV, paintings, free programs, snacks, booze, etc... 8^)
However, the map was off, and our suite directly overlooked First Base. Not too bad--we could easily see the bullpens and part of the press box.

LOL.
At the NFL(American football) stadium in Cleveland they don't sell anything in bottles anymore because of an "incident" with them in 2001.

Sounds like you had a good time despite the loss. I haven't been to a ballgame in 2 years.

I didn't forget yuns, I took hundreds of pics today, I need some time to sift through them to pick out some good ones. I'm really beat and tired so I'll be in a better frame of mind tomorrow. B-) I do plan to stay home and rest tomorrow although I'll go out and snap some more pics since the planes fly over my house. The "Fat Albert" plane (the C-130 that goes with the Blue Angels) was a treat to watch as well as I sat in the pilot's seat of a C-130J flying TV/Radio station. Would be cool to have, something to connect an 8-Track to and broadcast some tunes or to bring Michael Savage to the oppressed peoples of the world. B-) Seriously, the plane is like a modern version of the old "Stratovision" that was proposed in the 1940's and actually used for educational TV in the Midwest back in the 1960's.

They still sell soft drinks in bottles but the cap is removed and thrown away by person behind the counter before they hand it over.
Alcohol is only sold in plastic cups and has to be consumed in the area around the bar and cannot be taken back to your seat and has strict times it can be sold like they stop selling it so long before the game starts and it is not on sell during the game.

At the NFL(American football) stadium in Cleveland they don't sell anything in bottles anymore because of an "incident" with them in 2001. The Houston Oilers were victims of a similar incident that originted from the Dawg Pound sometime in the late 80s.

Family Therapy
READ: 1 Corinthians 12:26-31
If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it. 1 Corinthians 12:26
Dr. Paul Brand, a medical missionary in India, observed an unusual phenomenon with several of his patients. When they were recovering from surgery in his hospital, some family members would bring hot meals to them. At night a relative would sleep on the floor under the bed of the recovering patient. When patients awoke in pain, their loved ones would gently massage them until they went back to sleep.
At first Dr. Brand thought this was inappropriate and unsanitary. Over time, however, he began to notice that the patients receiving this loving care from family needed less pain medication. They were being soothed by people who loved them. This family therapy brought the warmth and care of home into an unfamiliar place.
We can learn from this example of love and care for our family. Those who belong to Christ are part of a spiritual family and need to be aware of the hurts of other members. The apostle Paul said, If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it (1 Corinthians 12:26). This principle requires that we find practical ways of soothing hurts. Do you know a Christian brother or sister who needs family therapy from you? Dennis Fisher

A thoughtful word, a gentle tear
Will help to lift the heavy load
Of weary souls along lifes road. D. De Haan
