Now, for some fun questions to kick off tonights thread!
1. Have you been on a date with someone you met on the Internet?
2. Did the date go well? Did a relationship result?
3. Did you meet them on a dating site or elsewhere? Was it totally by accident or chance?
4. Do you have a funny, gross, scary, or otherwise entertaining internet dating story to share? Either one that happened to you, or someone you know.
5. Any funny or interesting meeting the parents stories?
6. Has meeting the parents ever caused a breakup?
7. And, finally, have you ever set up a backup scenario to get out of a potentially bad date?
Not really--I suppose if you don't have very much experience with Mac, and specifically Mac Classic (OS 9.22 and earlier).
This one's OS 8.6--it was released May 1999. Strictly speaking in computer terms, it's rather ancient, but not as old as say Win95, OS/2, or heck, Lisa...8^)
Well, it would be hard for me to get used to.
If you've been used to Windows--I can believe it.
OTOH, it'd be really hard for me to get used to a typewriter...8^)
No "undo" button on a typewriter.
No Panic or ZOT keys either.
...and you can't hack it either 8^)
Talk about the Stone Age!
I agree with the statements you made here. Seems the formulas of idealism don't always mean "one size fits all". Each person comes with varied baggage & backgrounds which will determine how they will approach new relationships.
The long relationship I had with "john" only died because of his kids. NOT the kids per se but his manner of dealing with them & our different ideas of discipline, parenting & do spouse or kids come first?
That was 2 years ago. I still see him for bike, kayak & dog walk outings but do NOT regret not marrying him. He still has a mess with kids that manipulate him, that he tries to "buy" & wants to be his buddies.. not his kids.
He will never change & will always be frustrated (as he was when he called me today with he NEGLECT on Father's day) with the way he has "trained" them to be as adults.
Hi Bill.. are you still up? for the graphic I got a log in site.. NO pix..
now((horrors)) .. please tell me a real little girl did not eat a real frozen/thawed mouse????
No kidding...8^)
Ah, I guess those pictures are only available to members of that site. I'll have to find another place to put my pictures so that I can show them to others. Thanks for letting me know.
No, the "little girl" is my ball python. She's not been eating for a while, and she's starting to take food again. I guess I've fixed whatever I was doing wrong or maybe she's just getting ready to grow more.

Great photo Dolly! I just walked through the door. Been spending the whole afternoon outdoors.

Thanks, Dolly!
Good tune, too!
Let's continue to leave August 25-27 open for anyone who really wants to try hosting, but as I think I said in an e-mail, I'm going to try to hold that weekend open to help host if I'm needed. If I can hold the time free and no one else volunteers, I'll be a co-host.
With you doing "Dear Abby/Dolly" on the following weekend, August 25-27 might be a good weekend to do a summer "look back" and fall "look forward." We could ask people where they went on vacation and how they liked it. We could ask those who are single and don't have kids if they have other vacation plans for the fall when vacation areas should be less crowded. We could ask people whether they lost the weight that they hoped to lose and how they will try to keep it off as the weather gets colder. We could ask those who've been to college what they'd most like to say to entering freshmen. We could ask everyone whether they remember any impressions of the first fall in their adult lives when they realized that they weren't going back to school that fall. We could ask about back-to-school stuff for those who have kids although I haven't a clue what that would be because I don't have kids. If rightwingintelligentsia has other ideas, I'm happy to go with those ideas instead, but these things hit me as appropriate for that time of the year.

Hello hello hello!!!!
My Dad and stepmother met on a pre-internet personals ad. Remember how in most cities they did the ones in the back of the newspaper?
Music thanks to Victoria! It took me forever to figure out how to do it! not a regular A href post!. glad you liked it.

Be gentle, Phil...
