Now, for some fun questions to kick off tonights thread!
1. Have you been on a date with someone you met on the Internet?
2. Did the date go well? Did a relationship result?
3. Did you meet them on a dating site or elsewhere? Was it totally by accident or chance?
4. Do you have a funny, gross, scary, or otherwise entertaining internet dating story to share? Either one that happened to you, or someone you know.
5. Any funny or interesting meeting the parents stories?
6. Has meeting the parents ever caused a breakup?
7. And, finally, have you ever set up a backup scenario to get out of a potentially bad date?
Let's see what I have here:
A chewed up slipper and its cotton guts everywhere, bits of cardboard everywhere, bits of package wrap plastic everywhere, a chewed up, an old blanket with bite holes all in it...
And now he's asleep on the couch.
Man, I'm gonna' be busy.
It hasn't rained here, in earnest, in over three weeks. I don't care about my lawn, it always comes back. But, I also take care of my Mom's yard, house, plants, veggies and I REALLY need to catch a break, water-wise.
Pardon the typo.
Are you going to be looking for a new job, or are you retired for the time being?
I was harassed at my job. If you're interested in all the juicy details, I can PM you with what happened. It was awful. I almost ran out crying (and I am not a cryer).
That sounds awful.
Never quit in a work situation like that.
Fight and Win!
I am looking for a new job. This one was only a temp position. It was supposed to go for a whole year, but that was another story. I was working in HR (out of all places) with a couple of awful people who were just horrible to me.
Oh crap! Sexual abuse? Prolly most are interested in what happened & how you handled it.
The harrasser should be the one with walking papers .. not you wanting to leave.
Makes me burn!
Thanks. Should be done in a few hours.
Does your pup get enough exercise? Lots of off leash running? They do chew next to NOT AT ALL, when they get lots of workout time.
sorry about your messes. annoying.
It wasn't worth fighting. It was a one-year temp job that was getting cut due to a sudden budget problem (a blessing in disguise). I was supposed to be there till April 07, but it got cut to August, and then the middle of July. On top of that I was harassed twice for my appearance (it was AWFUL), so I quit on Tuesday. Why bother.
I suppose I could get a lawyer and sue.
You would think people in HR would know better. But I've found that they and the legal dept. are typically the worst offenders.
We really need to walk him more. We did a lot not long ago but lately no one has the time.
Well, a lawyer sounds like it's going a little too far.
How old is your dog? Sometimes they grow out of the chewing.
If you're working a HR job, you know your rights.
Sounds like a bad situation. Just make DARN sure that these incidents don't follow you to your next interview. It's amazing how stuff like this, tho not your fault, can influence prospective employers. Sucks.
Interesting.
Before I would not have believed you, but now I feel like I could write a book on the atrocities commited by Human Resources folks.
Prolly.
