The Official Weekend Single's Thread ---May 26 -29 (Memorial Weekend US - Spring Bank Holiday Weekend UK)
Posted by Snugs;proud_yank
This weekend in America is Memorial Weekend a time when Americans honour their military dead.
Meh, A little HCl here & there. Eventually I'll have to tinker around with HF (hydro-fluoric acid) too.
LOL, So far, to my record I have only stabbed myself in the hand with a broken thermometer and flooded the lab floor once. Not bad, eh??
Man, am I pathetic....
Cool, why do I imagine though, that you are surrounded by liberals?
Interesting...8^)
When I was in Mech Eng lab freshman year, all we did was Rockwell and Brinell testing, as well as austenitizing iron--especially with the iron-carbon phase diagrams, etc.
Oil cooling vs. water cooling, etc...
Thanks and better late than never LOL
Freep mail back to you
My deck is very shallow, I almost wish it were 3-4" taller with a smaller cockpit. My leg can get really annoying, the first trip out is usually the worst on the legs as they cramp up so much. At least on a longer trip.
Scavenging shores is pretty fun. One of my paddling buddies has mastered that art! Seems like every half hour I am turning around to see how far behind he is.
I would love to have a dog, but I will wait a few years until I am somewhere a little more permanent. I'd like to get a canoe too, which would be better for a dog.
AFAIK, It's the stereotype.
I know of several conservatives who're also studying PoliSci...
As in Aqua Regia and Aqua Fortis...8^)
He is also a personal friend of Tony Blair and lets the Blair borrow his home in the West Indies for holidays.
I always liked Cliff Richard. Is he still recording?
Excellent! You know all the good stuff!!
The focus of my work is NbC precipitation strengthening of microalloyed (pipeline) steels.
I do some vicker's hardness testing for my research, but due to different cooling trends & different microstructures I can't conclude too much from the VHN. I am dissolving steel samples to determine how much Nb is still in solution, and how much has formed a precipitate.
Can we call you the Man of Steel, then, or is that title taken?
Thanks for the link, he sounds great!
Rory McLeod (Scottish) I have heard at a folk music fest. He was pretty impressive musically, but a rabid socialist. Shooglenifty (Scotland), and Oysterband (England) I have also seen.
Have you heard of any of them? Most are fairly small groups/performers.
Eh...a little what and what?
Ouch! And yikes...lol. Fortunately, with poli sci, I'm not likely to get injured. That was one of my requirements when I was selecting a major :)
thanks..
:-)
I don't think we went into that much depth--it was an intro course.
The lecture professor was an idiot, but the lab portion was really informative...8^)
NbC--Niobium Carbide. 105 grams per mole...8^)
So is the precipitate being measured in milliters or in moles?
He is doing a UK tour in November
HF, HCl, HNO3 and HI are all strong acids. This past semester, we had to do neutralization titrations using NaOH...
