While the beta 2 of Windows Vista is available, the consumer version of the new OS could be pushed back past the stated January launch date, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said at a news conference in Tokyo.

You can try Cedega to run it. I use it to play Diablo II and a few other Windows-only games.
Why DD? Suse is better.(IMHO of course) 10.1 just released :-P
^^^^^^^^^^^^I will keep one Windows machine until Wine runs Star Wars: Empire at War, however.^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Heh.... Windows is a great OS if you manage to keep it 100% isolated from the internet.

Hey hey HEY! HHHHEEEEYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's plenty of half to go around, no need for all of you to argue over me.
:-D
Windows is perfectly safe on the internet, from any website or attack. All you need is this, which provides a variety of additional benefits besides complete protection, including anonymity and SSL privacy of your traffic through your ISP.

lol...
Eventually I am going to get a Core Duo laptop, and I will put SUSE on that, however - the model I have in mind, the Fujitsu Siemens Pi1536 and Suse are "happy together".

Why bother with that headache? Just use your computer. That's what I do.
:-)
Two words: exclusivity contracts.
That's the only reason why Windows ever came to be the ginormous behemoth that it is.
Though it is indeed hard to say, I'd guess that if MS didn't have an easy ride throughout the 90's on those contracts, other OS's, browsers, software suites, etc. (softwares) would have developed--which would have had two effects:
a.)Microsoft would have had to work even harder to compete with the makers of those other softwares for market share, which would have resulted in
b.)Windows being a more secure and better-designed operating system--with much less vulnerabilities. With MS having a near-monopoly literally at its fingertips, they knew they could get away with more and chalk it up to user problems.
Using Anonymizer won't help. All it does is conceal your tracks while you're surfing--and to bypass poorly-implemented web proxies.
However, Anonymizer does absolutely no good if you're dealing with a good firewall (e.g. N2H2's Bess), nor does it help provide protection from viruses.
Quite literally, it's the computer equivalent of using a slightly-torn piece of saran wrap in the bed. At best all you have is a false sense of security.
Not only have you been found to know absolutely nothing about *nix systems, you've shown a rather lacking knowledge in computer security...
Netblock Owner | IP address | OS | Web Server | Last changed |

Ouch! That hurts!
Hilarious! Name a single site you don't think I can get to and tell you what is there without getting infected by whatever they want to throw at me. Lay your best trap, and I'll go there with anonymizer running, and we'll see if they can hack me. This is your chance to finally for once back up your BS. Obviously, I'm not concerned LOL.
That seems to be their website IP, and no guarantee that information isn't being spoofed for security purposes anyway. Even if their customer proxies are using *nix, so what, so do most home router/firewalls. The point remains you can safely run Windows on the internet, else ~90% of users wouldn't be using it, and most don't even have a proxy like anonymizer.
Well TCP/IP is your only protocol that's exposed to the internet, so if it's being carefully filtered to block everything other than text and images how else is a script going to get through?
Good Post...
Major pwnag3 around here...8^)
When I was in high school, a bunch of us used Anonymizer to bypass Bess and access blocked sites.
Needless to say, there were a couple instances where the computers were out of order...
The fact is that you make it sound like all you need is to run Anonymizer on a Windows box and you'll be completely safe--when in reality, nothing could be farther from the truth.
I had a Windows laptop crash after using it--one of the things that drove me to Linux to begin with...
