Two words: exclusivity contracts.

That's the only reason why Windows ever came to be the ginormous behemoth that it is.

Though it is indeed hard to say, I'd guess that if MS didn't have an easy ride throughout the 90's on those contracts, other OS's, browsers, software suites, etc. (softwares) would have developed--which would have had two effects:

a.)Microsoft would have had to work even harder to compete with the makers of those other softwares for market share, which would have resulted in

b.)Windows being a more secure and better-designed operating system--with much less vulnerabilities. With MS having a near-monopoly literally at its fingertips, they knew they could get away with more and chalk it up to user problems.

Using Anonymizer won't help. All it does is conceal your tracks while you're surfing--and to bypass poorly-implemented web proxies.

However, Anonymizer does absolutely no good if you're dealing with a good firewall (e.g. N2H2's Bess), nor does it help provide protection from viruses.

Quite literally, it's the computer equivalent of using a slightly-torn piece of saran wrap in the bed. At best all you have is a false sense of security.

Not only have you been found to know absolutely nothing about *nix systems, you've shown a rather lacking knowledge in computer security...

Hilarious! Name a single site you don't think I can get to and tell you what is there without getting infected by whatever they want to throw at me. Lay your best trap, and I'll go there with anonymizer running, and we'll see if they can hack me. This is your chance to finally for once back up your BS. Obviously, I'm not concerned LOL.
