CHIX SINGIN’ NEW ‘VIEW’TUNE (Dixie Chix apologize again)

May 25, 2006 -- DIXIE Chick Emily Robison has apologized to the women of "The View" for dissing them in Time magazine.

"View" co-host Meredith Vieira read Robison's mea culpa at the top of yesterday's show.

"I wanted to write you directly to apologize for my comment in Time magazine. I attempted to explain how much we respect maverick artists like Bruce Springsteen," Robison wrote. "My intention was not to insult 'The View,' and at the time, I was truly just pulling a name out of the air."

The comment infuriated the show's co-hosts, since "The View" gave The Dixie Chicks their big break in 1998. On Tuesday's show, Joy Behar tore the Time magazine article to shreds.

This from the girls who sang about "mattress dancing" on a "sin wagon".

To paraphrase a really great southern band, "A southern man don't need them around, anyhow!"

(Dixie Chix apologize again)

Yes, and we all know that their apologies really mean a lot.

These women really suffer from an acute case of "foot in cake-hole disease".

I knew it! While the "eating crow" part is nice, the NYPost left out the important part of the "apology" email.

Robison wrote the email for a different reason. She said she wanted to make it abundantly clear that it was not the fat-leaderchick-whose-name-must-not-be-uttered that made the remark! It was important that *she,* Robison, take the heat for it, so people wouldn't be mad at she-who-must-not-be-named.

Bleeccch.

I always liked the Chicks, and thought {both verbs in the past tense} they were a fun group. Now it's almost as much fun watching them try to keep their career alive.

I thank them for opening their mouths and saying exactly what's on their collective mind. I extend that same gratitude to a multitude of "artists" and "actors" as well as businesses who are similarly afflicted and feel the need to tell the world about their politics.

Had they not been so open, I might have spent my money on their various works and products and thereby would have supported them and their causes. Instead, I've been forewarned and have saved myself a lot of money and future heartaches and problems.

It's funny what barbers look at or listen to. Years ago, at my last command, the on base barber listened to IMUS. I had to endure that crap while getting my hair cut.

The Chix started losing it when their song "Goodbye Earle" was taken seriously by the feminazis. FatChick had originally stated that is was just a silly song, but soon after it was embraced by the victim-advocates, she started talking about how the song would help to advance the cause of violence against women.

Attacking the View? That's SURE to cost them tens of fans.

"Today, this Chick is eating a little crow."

Yesterday, and Tomorrow, the Chick will eat crow.

The worst thing you can curse a celebrity with is obscurity. I wish that upon the Dixie Chicks.

My heavenly days! They have been on GMA every single day this week - and now, they just did a promo with them - they're going to be on it again today - and then do a "concert" tomorrow!

That does it. This mass coverage is offensive to me. I am ashamed to be from the same state as these horrors!

I guess she realized that she doesn't want to insult her new "fan base."

No one can keep a grudge longer than me, but isn't it apparent what is happening here? Let's face it, most celebrity performers are self-centered, atheistic, liberal suck ups. Yes, even when they sing country! What happened to the Ditsy Chicks is that reporters know how stupid and impetuous they are, and they get these great quotes that make headlines every time. I'm sure that Celine Dion could burp up some pretty offensive stuff too, if goaded like Natalie Maines has been.

I know, she started it all herself, on stage, but she is getting plenty of help.

I still will never listen to another DC song.

"Today, this Chick is eating a little crow."

Well, that ought to get the man-hating butches of the View's audience excited.
