May 25, 2006 -- DIXIE Chick Emily Robison has apologized to the women of "The View" for dissing them in Time magazine.
"View" co-host Meredith Vieira read Robison's mea culpa at the top of yesterday's show.
"I wanted to write you directly to apologize for my comment in Time magazine. I attempted to explain how much we respect maverick artists like Bruce Springsteen," Robison wrote. "My intention was not to insult 'The View,' and at the time, I was truly just pulling a name out of the air."
The comment infuriated the show's co-hosts, since "The View" gave The Dixie Chicks their big break in 1998. On Tuesday's show, Joy Behar tore the Time magazine article to shreds.

From the beginning, all theses Ding-Dongs had to do was shut up and sing. Had they done so they would be millions ahead and with a lot fewer headaches.
...as long as it keeps people talking about US!"
oh Chuck the FIxie Dicks!
Taking the art of the "dumb ( bleached ) blonde" to new heights.
Shut-up and sing.....actually just shut-up I never liked this group to begin with.
Trust me, some things you don't want to know.
He is such an old gimp!
Robison was quoted in Time's Dixie Chicks cover story as saying the group takes its politics very seriously - and how it asks itself, "What would Bruce Springsteen do?"
"Not that we're of that caliber, but would Bruce Springsteen do 'The View'? " Robison said.
The comment infuriated the show's co-hosts, since "The View" gave The Dixie Chicks their big break in 1998. On Tuesday's show, Joy Behar tore the Time magazine article to shreds.
"I had no knowledge of whether [Springsteen] had been on the show or not," Robison wrote in her apology.
"We never meant to disrespect you, your show, or your viewers.
"Today, this Chick is eating a little crow."
"We accept the apology," Barbara Walters said.

I had to endure "The View" while I was at the barber shop. It was akin to being forced to watch home video for a baby shower put on by 8th grade dropouts.
They insult people everywhere they go. It's like a rolling wreck.
They might as well buy houses in NYC, because they've alienated about everyone else with their self-absorbed commie mouths.
Barbara Walters said they accepted the apology, but I bet it will be a cold day in a hot place, before they're invited back.
>>>Imus on his radio show is pushing the Dixie Chicks new album hard.
I once read a description of the "Imus Book Award" as the only literary honor you had to pay $50,000 to receive. I would feel safe betting all the money in my pocket that Imus is well compensated for his spontaneous and "non-commercial" praise.
Maybe you need a new barber. When I walk in the door of my barber shop it's like I time-traveled back to 1957.
What kind of barber shop do you go to. No way mine would have "The View " on. Must be one of those beauty shops who cut mens hair.
LOL you wouldnt believe the one I go to. The guy has a paddle hanging up and when a kid misbehaves he tell the customer to use it or get out. He loses a few customers but keeps more.
(sung to the tune of wide open spaces)
They've got Wide Open Faces
Mouths to say a big mistake
They need new places
some place with sharia law some place with sharia law
I apologize for the 8th grade level of this post, but I had to try!
A woman who yearns for the antebellum South?
Jones' fat body is now much smaller than Main's fat mouth.
It tells you a great deal about the Drive-By Media and pop culture when four ohhhh-pinnnn-yunated bobbleheads on a morning talk show get more respect than the country's chief executive.
Chalk up a few sales from some libs tired of listening to the same armpit-haired folk-singing female artist CD day after day.
The shark's long gone on this group.
I don't do barber shops anymore, my wife does my hair now (if you saw my hairline you'd understand). However, you described perfectly the 3 barber shops in our little town. May they never change!
