(Vanity) Newbie Prayer Request
24 May 06 | Army MP Reitred

Posted on 05/24/2006 5:51:44 PM PDT by Army MP Retired

FReepers.. I have only been a member of this community for a few days. In that short amount of time I have quickly come to know that the FReepers are compassionate and just plain good folks.

I am sending out to you a prayer request for my bride of nearly 18 years. This evening, we were counseled by her doctor that a lump we discovered in her breast a couple weeks ago is in fact cancer. The type is Infiltrating Ductal Carcenoma. We don't know what stage or any other information yet, really - we will meet with the DR tomorrow for details and to discuss treatment, etc. We are, frankly, very scared. If you could meet this amazing woman you would be very fond of her. For the past some 17+ years she has followed me all over the world as I served in the Army until retiring in December '05. She's spent countless months and years without me raising our two incredible boys on her own, while I did what was asked of me for our nation. She has always stood behind her Soldier and has performed, literally, thousands of hours of community service volunteer work for Army families. She received a certificate from President Bush last year for all she has done through the years. She's just an amazing woman.

Your prayers for my lady, Anita, would be so very much appreciated. We are faithful and believe in the power of prayer.

Thank you for your genuiness and for caring about our great nation the people that support it.

If anyone has experience dealing with breast cance, I would be most grateful to you for sharing your insight and thoughts through FReepmail.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this - God Bless.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for the privilege of bringing MP's beloved wife before the Throne of Grace. Thank You, O God, for the love they have for each other, so evident in their lives ... thank You for their love of country and for their many years of service ... how we praise You, Merciful Father, for ones such as these who serve our nation so nobly and so well.

As You have walked with them in days past, be very near to Anita and her beloved as they learn what they must medically do to be healed of this disease. Grant the greatest wisdom to their medical team ... bring to them ones who are extraordinarily skilled, that they might be used of You to bring about healing. Remind them, in their moments of fear, that Your loving arms are their shelter ... remind them that You have promised to be with them always, even unto the end of the age ... grant them comfort in the assurance of Your Word ... "Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, for the Lord your God is with you, whither soever you go." Joshua 1:9.

May the Comfort of Your Presence be most evident in the hours and days ahead, Merciful Father ... grant them rest during the night and strength and encouragement during the day, for the God of the Universe ever stands watch over His children.

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we praise You, now and for evermore. Amen ...

Father, I lift up your beloved daughter, Anita. You see her, You know her, and You loved her before the world began. We pray for her, Father, just as You asked us to pray to You. Hear us, Father; let Anita see Your Face in the whirlwind, and let her know You are God.

You are God. You are able. We pray for this -

And I lift up this good man, so torn by pain. In the night, You are holding his hand. Let him feel it, and let him give that love to his wife.

In this, he is fulfilling the duty you gave to him, from the moment he saw her face and fell in love. He is fulfilling his promise to Anita, and to You. Hear our prayer, O God our Father -

Heal her. Heal us. Fill us with Your Love. In Jesus name I pray it, Amen...

Heavenly Father,

You are the Great Physician. Look down upon your faithful daughter, Anita, and touch her with Your healing hand. Comfort and strengthen her husband as he supports her through this illness, and grant both of them the peace that comes through Your love.

In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
Amen.

Your prayers for my lady, Anita, would be so very much appreciated.

You got it, neighbor.

I nursed my first, late wife through Kaposi's hemmoragic sarcoma, and about the time it looked like she had it beaten, malignant melanoma raised its ugly head. But a stroke killed her- so you just never know what life will surprise you with.

Only a fool is not scared of something that may kill or maim them- fear is normal, and not a bad thing given the circumstances.

The two best things you can keep handy are a sense of humor ( I know it may not seem that way now, but you will see absurdities, contradictions, idiocy, and everything else a human being can experience ) and a sense of skepitcism.

Ask questions, and challenge answers you get. A good Doc will welcome them.
