News stories and early reviews have indicated that when "The DaVinci Code" was screened in Cannes recently, movie goers guffawed at the film's revelation of the identity of one of Jesus's modern day descendants. In that spirit and to "honor" the film's release tommorrow, let's speculate as to who the film reveals as Christ's modern day descendant!

Ebert is a Scientologist....so it makes sense he would like the movie...LOL!
He also thought 'The Rapture' was a terrific movie (made by Scientologists) mainly because as he puts it in his review...."We live in a terrifying universe, and Christian theology, read literally, makes it more terrifying still..."

Like Jesus, he likes to keep people guessing when he's coming back.

It's not a strange thread at all - that's supposed to be the climax of the movie. It has to be somebody famous, because everyone in the audience knew who it was and laughed, but it has to be somebody that the screenwriters thought would be taken seriously as "the last living descendant of Christ". Which just goes to show how out-of-touch Hollyweird really is.

I did read the book, and I think the screenwriters must have changed it. Why would everyone laugh to find out it was Sophie?

Ebert is a Scientologist....That's news to me. Born a Catholic, now he describes himself as "no longer religious."

Nope. Haven't read it, hence the speculation. Just having some fun at their expense since they seem to make a living having "fun" at our expense.
