Towelie has been gone for a long time...a TowelieBan?

I loved the Oprahism...the high-pitched, sing songy vibratto; the Book Club $election; and especially, the torches under everyones seat!!! Too funny. Geraldo, with a lisp, reporting on Oprah!, from Afghanistan was a bright spot as well. IMO, not Matt and Trey's finest, but a keeper.

Anybody want to guess when SP takes on Katie Couric/Meredith Vierra, the Today Show, the View, et al? I would love to see the SP Starr Jones :)

All in all I have to say that episode is in high competition with jackavasaur for worst episode ever.

It's been decades since I laughed so hard that tears were rolling down my eyes, but Matt and Trey did it tonight. This is one of their very best episodes. The whole "minge" business and giving her rectum a name was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. That and Towlie's constant weed smoking. It had me laughing so hard I couldn't sit up.

Oprah will not be a happy camper over this episode.

This episode is one of my faves. I can't figure out why some here didn't like it. What really did it for me was the Cockney accents of Minge and Gary. It was PERFECT.

Maybe some folks here aren't aware of the controvery of the book author who appeared on Oprah and turned out to be a fraud. If one doesn't know this background then a lot of the episode wouldn't make much sense. However, this one is ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!

I loved how it shows that even when Oprah is wrong, she tricks her audience, makes it look like the other person's fault, and her sheeple will still follow her and lynch those who wronged Oprah. It shows how sheep like her audience is.

I did not need to meet Minge and Gary. Sure... I was chuckling the whole time... but I found myself sitting here silently mouthing "No... No... that did so not just happen... No... "

Heh.... I actually fell asleep last night before it came on... I woke up at 5 and watched it, but I'm not sure I was really awake. In my half sleep, it seemed like Oprah's Minge was holding some people hostage at gunpoint ;~D

I better watch it again :~D ~chuckling~

The end pretty much summed it up.. Don't write a story when you are high..

I suspect people who don't watch Oprah probably won't get most of the jokes.

I agree with the idea that this was probably as much about the danger of writing while high, as it was about Oprah.

But the people I feel most sorry for are any new viewers that watched this one because of all the hoopla over the last episodes. :-)

"Honey... is that a gun in oprah's... uhmm..."

"I think so."

"...and it's talking...?"

"Yes, that's what it looks like."

"why?"

"I don't know, hon... maybe we should watch Family Guy instead..."

"but why would they do..."

"I don't know... I really don't..."

The fake author story was not really the issue. They could have lampooned the entire situation without getting into the surreality of the talking minge. It was just so much of a bad idea. The accents added to the weirdness and were not so much an inspired touch as a necessity (to avoid American slang, which would have been too crude for the network.)

You can't win 'em all. "Scott Tenorman Must Die" was shocking and funny. This was just vulgar. Unless Oprah has some type of notoriety for neglecting her nether regions, it doesn't make a lot of sense as a satire.

Heh... Not to mention the other character is a stoner towel.

The regular characters weren't in this episode at all. No kids, no South Park.

I agree, without Stan Cartman and Butters it just isn't a South Park.

The dialogue and voices of Minge and Gary reminded me of Sean Connery and Michael Caine in John Huston's 1975 classic, "The Man Who Would be King". Caine played a character named Peachy Carnahan.

I wonder if Matt and Trey saw the movie.

It was weird not having the kids in this episode. I didn't think this show was as good as the others this season but I still liked it. That's the thing about South Park. No matter what the overall quality of a given episode is, you can always find something in it to like. :)
