(WooHoo! TOP 250!) Free Republic Folders Search for a Cure for Cancer, Alzheimer's

OK, new thread for the next week, now that Pittsburgh has another Super Bowl ring.

First, a big shout out to the SETI and BOINC members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.

Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 714 processors and 271 user names. We have a number of new users in the team, with over a 50 computers now from GetLoaded.com, a trucking support website, all contributing while their owners ply our freeways keeping the nation moving.

We now have 22 members who have contributed at least 10,000 points each. Greenbo, stylin19a, and smith288 are the latest to reach this milestone. Chesterbelloc and mediamole will join them this next week. Great job! Even dfwddr will make this mark one day ;`)

Even more impressive, our team now boasts 180 members who have folded at least 1,000 points. That is more than the entire number of folders for our erstwhile left-wing environazi competitors!

Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page

On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 268. We will be in the Top 250 on Wednesday!

As we continue to grow there are a number of milestones coming around the bend:

Top 250 by February 10
Top 200 by the end of the February

We have 1,350,000 points so far and have folded over 10,000 WU. We will soon reach an exalted mark of folding a million points per month, each and every month! Fantastic!

Thanks again to all that are helping us advance science and promote the peaceful use of computers.

Don't look, but rumor has it that another team has almost as many active members as the Free Republic Folders.

If they were to merge with another team then they would have more members, and would one day beat us.

Scawy. It's like hunting wabbits. They are after us.

RUNNN!!!

You may now resume your regular folding.

Yup, one person said something to the nature of, "Woo Hoo, we catch the Freepers in 5 weeks!".

Now that there's funny, I don't care who you are!

They won't have anyone catch a lightweight like me in 5 weeks, much less our entire team.

They must really have some good drugs over there.

We could stop folding today, every one of us, never fold another unit and it'd still take about 12 weeks before they'd catch us.

They are doing approximately 93k a week and have approximately 345k total points. We have approximately 1,445k points. Or a 1.1 million lead. 1,100,000/93k = 11.82 weeks.

Delusional as normal.

If we shut down every one of our computers today, at their current rate of production, it would still take them 82 days to match our curent points total.

You're right. I don't know what type of drugs they're doing over there, but they sure aren't the type that helps one do simple math calculations

They claim it's unfair, that you have a 600lb gorilla on your team, but even if I left today, you still have an 11,500 per day points advantage on them, which equates to them having to add an additional 82 users, just to MATCH the current daily totals, and they would have to add an additional 760 CPU's, in one day, to catch up in 5 weeks.

Truth be told, I never expected the DUmmies to reach 100 CPUs.

I admit that I'm sort of impressed with their growth.

This is going to be a long-term battle

At this rate we'll be in the Top 200 in 12 days.

We need a few more CPUs and our march into the Top 100 is guaranteed.

Welcome to "folding". You will have a blast. Here is a thread you can find some updated info. A few days after you download you should see your first reported WU show up.

It's nice having them chase us. Don't discourage them. For once they are doing something worthwhile!

p.s. I've managed to add 2 CPU's for the team. I've been trying to convince a few friends to join...I'll wear them down eventually. Every little bit helps!

I do NOT want to discourage them. Everyone that folds means that we might discover a way to keep the next Ronald Reagan active in civic life well into their 90's.

Reagan, Murdoch, Sam Walton. I do not mind the previous generation contributing for a century making this country more conservative.
