The Pimp in the Box has a pinglist? Put me on. Been listening since '92, well before syndication.

Thanks. The only thing I don't like about Romey's show is that most callers read their takes, and it's obvious they've been well-prepared in advance. This kills spontaneity/conversation. It started happening in the mid-90s around the time the "Huge Call of the Day" became a big deal, and the Pimp used to get quite peeved -- "if you can't speak off the cuff, send a fax/email instead." But he just gave up after a while and the format changed for good. I'd prefer 3 hours of just his takes and athlete interviews, but it is what it is. So I'm more of fan of his TV show these days -- packs a lot of material into a half hour, and no BS.

    yeah.....

sometimes the ones reading it aren't horrible, assuming they are using an outline and not a word for word take (Tobin in chapel hill)

I vaguely remember Trav from way back then, but I can't remember exactly when he came aboard. Romey was broadcast only in So Cal (on "the Mighty 690") in the 11:00am to 2:00pm time slot at that time, sharing the station with Lee "Smacksaw" Hamilton - whom he still smacks down on occassion - and the Chet Forte / Steve Hartman show.

Seems like every day is an audition for the annual Smack Off.
I haven't listened to his radio show in a while. Does that annoying dude from Virginia still call? .....forgot his name.

    lol....he's the one! Painful listening.
I miss some of the old-time callers -- Iafrate, Doc Mike and Jeffrey E. Ditola, Irie Craig, Silk, Terrence, "The Mayor," etc.

    Yeah...

there are some guys that are pretty funny. Rumplestiltskin in Houston is hilarious too...

But Silk and Terrence will call every once in a while....

But John and Crapper have moved in with Silk in his cardboard box, so they have to ration their call time these days :)

Terrence is simply the Best caller to Romey, I think. I must say, though, I miss Erin from Ottawa...

That episode NEVER made the claim the Tom Cruise is a poofter....simply implied it.
