With 30 seconds remaining why wouldn't they just try to move the chains? Play a little side line football. Exactly. The first thing you do is move the chains and move closer for the field goal. Unless your team has Adam Veneteri as a kicker, then you should always try to make the FG as close as possible.

That would have given them the ball back and only used about 8 seconds of time, that would have been stupid. If they were going to kneel 3 knees and a FG would have been so-so, but it still gives the Colts the ball back with very little time used and only a single score lead. Go for the throat, fortune favors the bold.
