I guess I'm a little late to the party. I'll just go ahead and catch up on the thread right here...

Man, it's early. What gives?

What?

Nothing.

No.

Who are you?

That was so lame!

I don't care!

Liberals suck!

I could bench you and your little dog, too!

Women need to be slapped around from timt to time to balance their hormones.

There, I think that catches me up.

I described the operation like this(bear in mind this is FICTION, and I just made it up, but tried to make it sound as plausible as possible):

A photosensitive plate, has billions of microscopic "lands" on it. Depending on the phase of the light, a "1" or 0"" is stored in a land, as a result of a change in its reflectivity quotient. The land then retains this state, even when power is off. To change that state, it is merely necessary to alter the phase of the lightpassing over that land. The "1" on a land will then revert to a " 0 ", and vice versa. With billions of these, you then have a viable storage medium, one that is about 100 times faster than a hard drive.

"And yet brains wins again over brawn. I win on brains, Leapfrog wins on brawn."

Are those the only two options? Brains and brawn? What about ballet dancers? Or fig newton bars? Or surfboards? You've got to consider more than just two things. Ya' gotta.

"Are your fingers totally wore out?, here maybe you should lay down for a few moments.."

Huh! I may have pencil wrists, but my fingers...my finger mucles are so big, they frighten small children. I can crush diamonds into pretzels. They are denser than the brightest of neutron stars!!! Which is why I wear out keyboards so much.

"That was sweet." Yeah, so sweet it burns my throat. I'm talking Fruitopia sweet.

Dang! I didn't win the Mega Millions again!

Oh puhleeze, I hope you didn't really try? If you spent over $5, you were rooked. If God wanted you to win, he'd let you find a winning ticket on the sidewalk (advice given to me by a friend!) :)

Sort of like a plate in an old image orthicon camera or a plumbcon perhaps except it is non-volatile where it retains the information even when you turn the power off.

I'd rather spend money when I feel like it on a lottery than having large amounts of money taken against my will in the form of a state income tax.

Besides... the money helps pay to educate the chirren(TM).

I'm sorry, you must be a city boy, I've never heard of ballet dancers, fig newtwon bars or surboards.

Are they in any way similar to cloggers, homemade nestle's chocolate cookies and johnboats? Oooh, now I understand. I think I can beat you in clogging, cookies and johnboats. Hands down..And if you aren't sure of that, let's go canoeing down one of the Ozarks beautiful rivers. You get to be in the back. (hehe, and no, any river man would tell you that's not sexual, just, you get to be in the back) :)

You can't say that. She has brains moreso than brawn, or whatever.

"I'm sorry, you must be a city boy."

MMMmmmm....I find it hard to categorize oneself in such limiting ways.

Cloggers??? Bwah ha ha haaa...

Actually, I went canoing through the Okeefenokee once. I preferred being in the front.

Maybe-----but this one has 100 TERABYTES of memory, operating at 200 Ghz!! (a DVD-RAM is NOWHERE near that fast. Plus-- NO moving parts). Remember-- this is FICTION!!

I totally support that! You are going in with wide open eyes. Just please don't get in front of me in line, I hate when they take all that time to say, "OK, I'll take one of the Super 7, and one of the Bingo, and one of the...". You've met me, I'm the one behind you sighing extremely loudly.
