We read that the president met with his personal attorney Sunday night, at which juncture Mr Bush offered up the job of Supreme Court Associate Justice to Ms. Harriet Miers. Here follows a transcript of their conversation, as pieced together by kitchen and dining room staff.
W: So hey, you've been pretty loyal to the family, Har, and this business with Joe Wilson has been rough on everybody. But you've hung in there, and I've been thinking about movin' you up.
H: Gosh gee, Mr President, what do you have in mind?
W: Well we're gonna be needin' some friends in high places. I mean - HIGH - places. Ya follow?
H: Not sure, Mr President.
W: Way I see it we're gonna hafta buy an insurance policy in case those torture memoes get out. Rummy and Dick, I never know what those two been up to, damnation, they're probably plottin to take over the military, heh heh, but I gotta look out for them.
H: Are you thinking then about FEMA?
W: Tarnation no Harriet, we need friends in HIGH places, not some backwater post where you fly around in copters and smile for the press. No hon, I need you where you can be an ASSET to me.
H: So you're thinking about Chief of Staff?
W: Har, hell no Harriet, Condi would never let me see her - er, never forgive me for that. No I need someone who can fight for us.
H: So you mean -
W: That's right Har - the Spreeme Court! Sandy's movin back to Arizona and I need you to get in there and watch out for me. We're gonna have some cases coming through in a few years and I need you to start learnin from Tony and Clarence about how to handle them Zecutive Privilege cases. You know, like we talked about with Hammi and Padillo.
H: (Gushing) Mr President, you're the most brilliant man I've ever met.
W: Uhh, you didn't do any work for any Horse Societies, did you?

that's what I am saying....
Judging from your spelling, I would guess they were written by Dan Quayle.
LOL, the hillary trolls are out in force. One git has a thread (signed on right after the last election) saying he has had it with the president and will vote for Hillary. MikeinIraq summoned the undead thread to deal with him.
This nonsense sure is getting tiresome.
Now scram before I throw it at you.
I'm fed up with Bush. Here's a guy in a fantastic position to educate the country about conservative ideals, but he is incapable of motivating or capturing the attention of people. He's propelled us into absolutely irresponsible fiscal policy. And now this--Miers. He's got control of the Senate and could get a great (and young) justice on the bench, and he gives us pablum.
yeah I am SO sure this pick made you be fed up with Bush. Roberts didn't?
right.
Underwhelming yes, but considering what I am reading from other sources and seeing Fox News (Brit Hume just had a good interview), I think the jury is still out.
We don't know enough about her to make any sort of decision right now.
