Someone on FR asked this question:
I will say it again, did the RATS intentionally make things worse in LA to use as a political weapon ?
My answer is yes, indeed they did. They most certainly did. And they made that decision BEFORE Katrina even hit.
I outline their entire plan in a thread I posted several days ago:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1478397/posts
But before you read it, let me go even further than I did on that thread and take what I said to its logical conclusion. And if, after reading the thread, you think it's too far-fetched, just consider the slander and venom that the Left has been spewing all across the board, as if someone has pressed a button and mobilized them everywhere.
The Left set a trap for Bush, plain and simple, and it was a two-pronged trap. They willingly allowed a natural disaster to be as bad as it could be, so that they could blame the result on Bush in the orgy of slander and calumnies we are witnessing. There has been no incompetence and no stupidity (except possibly in the case of Nagin). All the chaos and mayhem we have seen are the results of a calculated, deliberate plan of INACTION so that the fruits of that inaction could be laid at the feet of George W. Bush. The failure to use buses for evacuation... keeping FEMA and the Red Cross out... failing to nip the anarchy in the bud and allowing everything to go to hell... all CALCULATED AND DELIBERATE. The entire thing has been an operation carried out by the DNC and the MSM in complete collusion, because for the past five years their entire raison d'etre has been to destroy George W. Bush for his "crime" of being elected instead of Gore.
I have described the first half of their trap. Here is the second half. They also allowed the disaster to get as bad as it could be in an attempt to force the President to overstep his authority in order to save lives. By using Blanco as a giant monkey wrench in the federal machine, sabotaging the federal effort and blocking all help, they tried to force Bush's hand into violating Posse Comitatus so they could impeach him. It's that simple. They are truly diabolical.
Do you understand now, the extent of the set-up? They wanted to use Bush's own Christian compassion (of which they have absolutely none, despite all of their pretension) to violate the Constitution in order to save the lives of the drowning and dying. They tried to force his back to the wall and create a situation so desperate where he would need to take desperate action.
I hate it when I see the Left described as stupid. Does anyone really think they could be stupid and get to where they have gotten? If they were stupid, they would not have grown into the threat they have become, and gotten to control the media, academia, and so on. They are very, very smart, and the results of their actions and policies are not unintential screw-ups by well-intentioned but misguided fools, but deliberate damage by fanatics playing by Marx's book for over four decades. Step by step, meticulously, they have gotten to where they are, and they MUST be stopped... or our nation will not survive.
As it is, Bush didn't fall into the second half of their trap, but the first half was unavoidable as soon as the MSM began the cacophony of lies and calumnies and accusations of racism. To the Dems, it's a win-win situation... but in the end, it'll be a lose-lose for them. For as the Bible says, he who sets a trap will fall into it himself, and he who rolls a stone will have it roll back on him. The Truth will destroy them.
This rock they have tried to roll, because of its very size, they will not be able to push... and it will roll back on them the way it did on Wile E. Coyote every time he tried to get the Roadrunner.
No trap. Just total incompetence. Blanco and Nagin are waaaay too stupid and inept to be setting traps.
Never attribute to Malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
Well it's a good theory but no way will it ever be proven short of The Sinkmeister himself confessing and in bringing forth tapes of the plotters setting it up.
You forget that the fact that the Dems in LA have been taking kickbacks from crooked contractors who used substandard materials and methods when they should have been shoring up the levees. These will show up when they start investigations. You can start by searching all of Nagin's personal papers and computers and I'll bet that you will find millions of dollars of money in offshore bank accounts.
Or greed or incompetence.
I'll have to second that. While I can be as tin-foil hat wearing as the next guy, it is hard to believe that the Dem leadership could be that evil.
Do you think either of them will even bother running for reelection? Blanco isn't just an idiot, she committed political suicide. She's caused her base constituency to be spread all across the country. I bet most them won't return. She's just lucky she didn't get them all killed. Katrina was a cat 5 storm while it was offshore on Sunday, Aug. 28. If it had continued straight for New Orleans at that strength, there would have been few survivors. The levee system was only intended to protect against a cat 3 or less storm. As soon as it became a cat 4 storm, the evacuation plan should have been executed.
I don't recall ever implying Blanco masterminded any plan. She is a TOOL being used by the ones calling the shots. As I described her, a monkey wrench thrown into the federal machine.
Well, you know the saying (adapted): Just because you think it's a trap doesn't mean they aren't out to lay one. I don't know if it was all as preconceived as you suggest. Maybe started out as incompetence, then suspecting Bush of trying to play politics because that's what the left would do, then politicizing it in reaction to their suspicion. One thing I know for sure, and that is the Dem leadership is corrupted and can and does stoop to almost any level to further their agenda.
I think that you're right. I agreed with Wayne LaPierre when he said that the dems were willing to accept a certain level of death and violence in order to help push their political agenda, and I agree with you here. Certainly, not the "rank and file" dems, but the leadership? Absolutely.
There's a ring of truth to the saying that there are two parties: The evil party (the dems) and the stupid party (the pubbies).
Mark
"Where they have gotten" is minority status in the House, the Senate, the Supreme Court, and most state legislatures. Plus, they have lost the last two Presidential elections. The scumbags of the left are getting loonier by the hour and as far as a massive Democrat conspiracy (and I LOVE conspiracies!) to try to make Bush look bad by sabotaging New Orleans, I can't buy it. It appears that a lot of Democrats have died in New Orleans, and even the Democrats aren't stupid enough to kill that many of their own votes on purpose.
The same thing was said about Hitler and the Nazis, wasn't it, in the beginning. Before the evil had run its course and the extent of it was finally revealed.
Rule of thumb: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE ENEMY. It can be, and is often, fatal.
I believe you have it exactly right. Incompetence cannot explain the pattern of behavior we have seen, except for Mayor Nagin.
It was a trap. And the full-court leftist attack was orchestrated.
But President Bush pre-empted one jaw of the trap by taking the initiative before the hurricane made landfall, and he avoided the other jaw of the trap by staying within his legal authority.
Not really they could have been promised an appointment, or a job at some lib company.
The dems don't have a Karl Rove to create this situation.(sarcasm)
