Do you think either of them will even bother running for reelection? Blanco isn't just an idiot, she committed political suicide. She's caused her base constituency to be spread all across the country. I bet most them won't return. She's just lucky she didn't get them all killed. Katrina was a cat 5 storm while it was offshore on Sunday, Aug. 28. If it had continued straight for New Orleans at that strength, there would have been few survivors. The levee system was only intended to protect against a cat 3 or less storm. As soon as it became a cat 4 storm, the evacuation plan should have been executed.

And so is Cindy Sheehan (stupid and inept). However the dem "handlers" are quick to organize when they see what might be a chance.

I think that is partly what happened here.

Well, they are stupid and incompetent. But they have the uncanny ability to make it up as they go along. They are comfortable liars and have no worry about self-contradiction.

Any event will look like a conspiracy through the lens they focus on it. The lens is their common mindset. or more accurately common illness.

Too complex... and too many people would be involved. Same problem with most conspiracy theories.

HOWEVER, I firmly believe that the state & local government of LA are squealling to cover their own massive corruption & criminal negligence.

In short, they were going to use ANY federal slip-up... actual or contrived, to cover their guilt.

You don't think they are tools of some kind, used by clever Grima Wormtongue-like advisors? Or advisors who have some kind of hook on them, like blackmail of some kind?

I know that one should not ascribe deceit when simple stupidity will do, but it's so hard to imagine anyone as primally stone-stupid as Blanko and "I am not a drug addict" Nagin. Even any ordinary third grader would have made better decisions.
