The little girl next door will be turning 11 next month. I would like to get her a birthday present. As of now, I am stuck. Stuck as the proverbial bug in the rug.
It should not be anything inappropriate or inappropriately expensive.
She can handle tech stuff, but I'm not sure that's the best way to go.
Any suggestions?
Cash.
For an 11-yo I would say $20 should cover it.
One of those little MP3 players. Then for her next birthday you can chip in to buy her hearing aids.
Are you sure you want to open yourself up to this?
Does she have a .22 rifle? Every little girl ought to have her own .22!
Don't walk naked in the backyard.
Don't kill her with your car while drunk.
How's that, Harry?
A gift card is always appreciated!
Cash is good, but the gift card shows that you actually put some thought into the gift rather than as an afterthought. :-D
Most malls sell SIMON gift cards (has a VISA logo on it). You can use those cards just about anywhere since it's treated like a pre-paid credit card.
And NO whiskey or vodka for her!
Books are always good....Your local book store might have a suggestion....Or a gift card to the book store would work too.
I've got a 13-yr-old and the gifts he likes the best are 1) cash and 2) gift certificates for places like Best Buy and Wal-Mart where he can put the money towards music cds, movies, video games, etc.
So you can play in them.......

I just got back from walking my dog. There were a pacel of little girls out playing in the hose at a house nearby. My, that looked good. It's been about 100 years since I did that. I wanted to join them. I was just yesterday thinking about taking my dog outside and hosing him off. I should do that. I probably will. It's that time of year.
An 11-year-old girl is in that "too old for toys, too young for boys" stage. I'd get her something a little grown up like a pretty bracelet or a gift cert to the mall. I think it's nice that you ask. Good luck!
My niece is 11 and she loves to get gift cards for stores like Gap Kids or Limited Two. You might also get her a gift card at some place like Best Buy where she could pick out a CD or DVD she wants.
How about a magic trick set? Or a board game or book you liked when you were 11.
And no Wild Turkey.
She won't respect you if she hears you mixing your metaphors like that.
Just be grateful that her wish list doesn't include getting her ears and/or navel pierced...and think that in a few more years...you can teach her how to drive...
Rubiks Cube !
Great little brain teaser.......for adult or kid !
