She's OK.

This is my final song for tonight

Something to remember me by... well, until tomorrow that is.

Nighty night, Amy. Sweet dreams.

Nite, Victoria.

I was sidetracked by a Dean Martin special on PBS. I guess PBS does have some good things.

Dean Martin ..... the one and only.

See you tomorrow. Sweet dreams.

Wow! This is the most ambitious display yet. Well done.

On a sadder note, our hearts are with you and we hope you are safe
as we try to determine what happened today in London.

Lost Books?

Read:
1 John 4:1-3

Every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh . . . . is the spirit of the Antichrist. —1 John 4:3

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 1-3

cover Everybody likes a good story, but many people are taking the best-selling novel The Da Vinci Code as historical fact.

Central to the book's plot line is the allegation that "lost books of the Bible" have been suppressed by the church for centuries. These lost books claim that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had children with her. This radically misrepresents history and is misleading many people.

These alleged "lost books of the Bible" were found at Nag Hammadi, Egypt, in 1945. They deny the biblical Jesus and promote goddess worship, self-deity, and secret knowledge.

So why did the church exclude these books from the Bible? Because the documents did not meet the criteria for authentic Scripture, which involved several central questions: Was the writer someone Jesus had chosen as an apostle? Did the book have widespread acceptance among church leaders? Did God's Spirit speak through it? The "lost books" did not pass these tests. All the books we have in our New Testament did.

When people question the trustworthiness of the Scriptures, we need to give them a respectful and an informed answer. It might just make them want to know more about our Bible—and our God. —Dennis Fisher

God's words of pure, eternal truth
Shall yet unshaken stay,
When all that man has thought or planned
Like chaff shall pass away. —Anon.

To the wise, God's Word is sufficient.

Immortal words from the Bard:

This royal throne of kings, this scepter'd isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England

---John the Gault, Act 2, Scene 1, Richard II

"We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Neither the sudden shock
of battle nor the long-drawn trials of vigilance and exertion will wear us down.
Give us the tools and we will finish the job." -- Winston Churchill, 1941

QUOTE OF THE DAY, which you may have seen before (since it obviously pre-dated us in some respects--LOL!):

Hugh Hewitt: "I go to Free Republic every day, probably 20 times. I bet you that I’ve heard every major story first on Free Republic, except for 9/11 (I was broadcasting on 9/11 while it happened). Now there are some nuts at Free Republic, some absolute off the wall goofballs. I always warn my listeners and friends in the blogosphere that you have to learn to work that site to avoid the goofballs, but in terms of having thousands people looking for news and posting it, it is far, far, faster than any of the news services." — Right Wing News - The Hugh Hewitt Interview

But I won't tell, who can blame you..." . > )

The Big Questions:

1. In the aftermath of the 7/7 terrorist attacks in London, will Tony Blair squander his country's international goodwill?

2. After climbing to record high levels, will Tony Blair's poll numbers decline over time?

3. Down and out, will Tony Blair resort to drinking Woolite on London's Bowery Street because he couldn't lead the frightened sheep in his flock?

4. Or, will the British people rise above the divisive style of politics so prevalent among today's liberals in America and, instead, come together to fight a common enemy?

5. Will Tony Blair's allies continue to support the War on Terror when, in the U.S., Democrat senators "rush to war" only to defeat unnamed Bush nominees to the Supreme Court?

Great Find.

I don't wander much any more so I miss most of the good stuff.

One of our local radio talk show hosts (tho a conservative) thinks FreeRepublic is full of nuts. :)

If I see something on Fox in the early morning, I immediately go to FR to get the details.

If I feel an earthquake, I head for FR to see where it was centered and how bad it is. Nothing like FReeRepublic.

Stand for freedom

As we stand with the people of Great Britain, we recall the words of Winston Churchill in his great speech of October 5, 1938:

"[D]o not suppose that this is the end. This is only the beginning of the reckoning. This is only the first sip, the first foretaste of a bitter cup which will be proffered to us year by year unless by a supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour, we arise again and take our stand for freedom as in the olden time."

NOTE: The photo is from a 1949 speech.

My heartfelt sympathies to the British people, especially to the family and friends of those killed or injured by the horribly and cowardly attacks perpetrated by savage terrorists.

England needs to fight terrorism in a more aggressive away. I just saw on CNN a group of Islamic-potential-terrorists gathered in London a couple of weeks ago chanting death to GW and Tony Blair. We don't fight terrorism with political correctness, and we shouldn't fight Islamic terrorism with excessive tolerance. The enemy has been allowed to spread and grow in England. Right now 40% of its population is Muslim. LINK

I checked the Dose awhile ago. Snugs posted the thread today. I didn't read the entire thread. I just checked to see that she was there and to look at some of the pictures.

I did post a note that she and the British people were in our prayers.
